A million-and-one reasons.


Teenage Years - shy, innocent, never thought about sex, was too busy living in my own little dreamworld, no-one touched me with a bargepole


Twenties - same as above, minus the innocent bit. And the bargepole. The twenties were very much my 'party' years - finding out what I liked, what I didn't like, enjoying myself. Exploring. If the right man had come along I would've settled down; but I didn't really know what I wanted and I knew - above all else - I had to be happy with myself first. I thought I wanted to settle down on many occasions; in retrospect, I realise I wasn't ready for it. At all. But just the fact that *anyone* was interested in me was mindblowing.


Thirties - same as above but I am far more content with who I am, compared to my teens/twenties. A long way to go, still, but I now realise that even if that guy comes along at a time I don't feel ready for it, well, that's the time that guy came along. I don't expect my life to be absolutely perfect, first, in the way I would like it to be.



Add to that: shyness, fear of rejection, low self-esteem, going for the wrong types, being attracted to people who weren't interested and vice versa... the same reasons as everyone else, really. But I am immensely happy being single - I hate to think I might die without ever experiencing a true love affair but I will never, ever 'settle'. I'd rather be on my own than with someone for the sake of it.

Because I hate going out, so I rarely meet new people. Also, I am in college and most of the guys at my school are frat guys and I'm not into that scene
