Keep your eyes peeled, make sure you have somewhere else to stay and watch the Weather Channel frequently. I hope that you're safe through all of this. 2 big hurricanes in 2 weeks can't be a good thing. I've got good friends down there too so I'm worried about y'all.

I've always been particularly afraid of tornados, and have, obviously due to geographical location, never experienced a hurricane. As I understand it, hurricanes can have tornados though.

Why, it was just a couple years ago, the tornado siren went off, and I was sitting in my basement. I looked out the window, and what do I see, the tornado itself, though it was only an F2. Still, I cried.
It didn't get anywhere near my house.

I work for the FAA and I just spent all day and several hours of overtime preparing for this Hurricane. I'm a technician and I had to remove a lot of monitor antennas from several VOR's. That's equipment that gives the planes azimuth and distance from a known spot. My sites run along the East Texas Coast line. I-10 is a madhouse right now because it's the only main vein leaving the Louisiana Coast line. It was bumper to bumper.

I personally hope it hits some marsh land in the middle of no where, because I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I hope no one is hurt from this hurricane. Well, I got to get some sleep so I can get up early. Just incase I need to take my kids to our Air Traffic Control Tower. It's hurricane proof, well at least I hope. But we don't expect anything to hit Houston.

Even though we DONT see eye to eye on religion, I DO hope that you and family stay safe and not get in the storms' path. I went though Hurricane Elaina back in 1985 down there and it ripped the roof off of the hotel we where staying in. Scariest thing I have ever seen!!

Anyway, take care and get in your car and head north!! I would!

They announced not too long ago that Lili was downgraded to a tropical storm. Thank goodness. But there are some tornadoes forming so keep your head up still. I hope this is the last of it this season. Y'all don't need anymore!
