I'm just listening to Bootsy Collins and I'm convinced he puts his talking voice on. Nobody can come across in such au contraire way like he does.

Do you think you know or someone you know who puts on a voice. What do they sound like and have you caught them out?

My father does. He has a Dominican accent, but tries to sound like he's from Brooklyn. I really don't know why he does it

I was at my friends house and he rang her up and put her on speakerphone, he told her I was there but she misunderstood, and I was cringing the whole time about the fake way she was talking

I don't know about putting on a voice, per se, but, for being from Detroit, Michigan (And, still living in this state), I sure do seem to use a lot of "East-American Lingo and Vernacular" along with my accent, at times. I don't know. I was raised in "Virginia Beach, VA" for about five years, so maybe that was why?
