And there you go, 4:30 am and the neighborhood prostitute is waking the street up by shouting at someone.

Have you ever been to New York? For a city of its size, Toronto is remarkably clean. it's violent
New York, L.A. and Chicago are all much more violent than T.O.

Lammastide said: ArielB said: Well, I see drug dealers and prostitutes everywhere here in Parkdale, at almost any time of day or night. But I was amazed to see that even they have respect for people. I do believe the documentary doesn't show the reality, but shows the darker side of it only. Of course. While Toronto moves forward, building $1,000,000+ luxury condo buildings and the like, many working-class folk in Parkdale, etc., have to hustle -- and sometimes illegally. Same story in any metropolitan city. That stupid documentary, though, is intended to make its narrow, dark reality seem universal and absolute rock-bottom. And that's just BS. You have to realize that many, many, many Canadians simply do not think that this kinda of thing happens in this country (particularly gun culture) and that's why this doc was probably made, imo anyway. I see it made to serve as a wake up call that a some (but certainly not many) Canadian cities are really not that different from US cities. So it's really not a case of this happening in "any metropolitan city" in this country - much like it may be in the US. As well, Toronto's gun and violence problem runs a lot deeper than this "clique of wannabes".

New York, L.A. and Chicago are all much more violent than T.O. I never said it was as bad as some US cities. It's still violent and dirty.
