I'm taking my first trip to the twin cities shortly. Sooo, what are some essential/fun things to do. Also, any sweet suggestions on good food?

DEFinitely don't drive 35W. plan your trip around it.

other than that, visit dinkytown and uptown for starters. hope you like it!

orgnote CarriemMpls or Endo.

They both live in Minneapolis and know everything about the city. I warn you that most of their activities are steeped in drug culture, but you will have a good time if you stick with them.

XxAxX is right, you can't go wrong in dinkytown or uptown. My favorite place to lounge with a glass of wine or cocktail is the Kitty Cat Klub in dinkytown. Or try the Loring Pasta bar over there. The food is good, but nothing exquisite, but the place is nothing short of gorgeous!

Let me know exactly what you're lookig to do/see, what kinds of things you're into and I can try to steer you in some directions.
