My boyfriend works just a few blocks from there, and he called me on his way home about a half an hour after it happened. I hadn't watched or read the news, so it was quite a shock. We take that bridge just about daily. Though he was in no danger, he was, nonetheless, terrified of going over the neighboring bridge on his way back home.
I'm an easy cry anyway, but this is a sad, scary night. I hope all your loved ones are safe. whew!! Thanks for checking in. Glad you and yours are safe. |

I just remembered/realized that two of my co-workers are in Minneapolis this week with 20 high school students on a field trip!! My other co-worker is trying to call them right now. I hope they are okay!! The call went to voice mail. The only good thing is that the other co-worker is kinda of well-known/celebrity-ish, so I figure they are okay because if that person was involved, it would have likely been mentioned on the news.

This is the worse disaster that happenned in Minneapolis and I am so thankful my daughter and I were able to cross the bridge before it collapsed. I would cross this bridge twice daily. I'm still in shock and pray for those who were on it. Glad you and the other orgers are ok Malbena. My cousin lives in MPLS also and I couldn't reach her for about a half hour after I found out. (circuits busy, etc.) When I finally got her I just started bawling...she had no idea why I was cryng she hadn't heard what had happened...Hug your loved ones NOW! We were just there for 7/7/7...unbelievable. My condolences to all involved. and

It's been a tough night in Minneapolis. My partner and I would travel over this bridge several times a week. I work right next to it. Prayers out to everyone.

Oh my gosh! I can't believe it. I travel that road everyday to go to work. I haven't been taking it lately because of the road construction. I've been taking 94 to 280 to go north but going home I take 35W south. I could have easily been on it.
My prayers are with all those injured and with those who have passed. What a tragedy! America's political system used to be about the "pursuit of happiness." Now more and more of us want to stop chasing it and have it delivered.
