Thank you for those who gave me kind words on the other thread Luv had to lock as this one had already started.

This is the worse disaster that happenned in Minneapolis and I am so thankful my daughter and I were able to cross the bridge before it collapsed. I would cross this bridge twice daily.

I'm still in shock and pray for those who were on it.

The news is not good. A tv station is reporting right now that there are only 28 people in the hospital and yet there are eye witness accounts saying it was bumper to bumper traffic covering the bridge at the time it happened.

Things are crazy.

All my loved ones are accounted for so far, thank goodness.

Theyr are annoucning at this time it has changed from a rescue effort to recovery effort.

This will be a strong financial strain on the Twin Cities,donations can be made by calling (612) 460-3700. I believe that is through the local Twin Cities Red Cross. Of course I would wait until tomorrow or so to keep the telephone lines clear.

My hopes are high for those I know that I haven't heard from yet. In actuality it's not a humoungous bridge. It's just such a well traveled one as one of the major arteries through the city that anyone at any given time could be there. I think I said above, I cross the bridge at least once a week and friends of mine did just an hour nefore it happened.

Thanks so much for your concern, kids. We're okay. Sorry I couldn't check in sooner; I was checking in on friends myself. Glad to hear everyone is okay. My boyfriend works just a few blocks from there, and he called me on his way home about a half an hour after it happened. I hadn't watched or read the news, so it was quite a shock. We take that bridge just about daily. Though he was in no danger, he was, nonetheless, terrified of going over the neighboring bridge on his way back home.

I'm an easy cry anyway, but this is a sad, scary night. I hope all your loved ones are safe.

I just remembered/realized that two of my co-workers are in Minneapolis this week with 20 high school students on a field trip!! My other co-worker is trying to call them right now. I hope they are okay!!
