Kevin Garnett in Celtic Green?

Sports radio WFAN(660 AM) just announced the Celts and T'Wolves are supposedly working on a deal that would send KG to Boston(Al Jefferson would be part of the deal). KG, Paul Pierce & Ray Allen together? Nice..

I am a life long C's fan. When I first read this post I was like hell to the yes. But upon further evaluation, I think it is mortgaging the future (Al will be putting up K.G. like numbers in the next year or 2 and will be a star for the next decade - plus we would have to give up Gerald Green, who I think will be a beautiful replacement for Paul Pierce in about 4 years.) If we have KG, Allen, Pierce it is championship or bust. That team wins the East for sure, but will not beat the Top 4 teams in the West (Phoenix, San Antonio, Dallas, Golden State) in a 7 Game Finals.

But what Eastern team CAN beat the West? As long as Duncan, Nash, Amare, Nowitzki, Boozer, Kobe, etc. are out there, the West will dominate for several years. If Oden & Durant do their thing, the West is even stronger.

I can never say never, cause thats why you play the game, I will however say that talent wise the East is getting better. I even think the oh so hated Knicks made some wise moves and will make the playoffs as a 7th or 8th seed this year. The move I would like to see made rather that K.G. is a Ratliff/Tony Allen 2nd round pick trade for Andre Kirilenko. That is a very hot rumor on all the Celtics Boards that I go on. Plus we'd get to keep Big Al. Check out that lineup:
PG: Rajon Rondo SG: Ray Allen SF; Paul Pierce PF: Al Jefferson C :Kirelinko (in the east he can play center) Plus we get to keep Gerald Green. The only guy left that I hate on our squad is Scalabrenie!

He has already said he didn't want to go to Boston and Boston is not going to trade for him unless he agrees to an extension which would likely be 6 years $120-$150 million. That's a lot of money and unless he sees Boston as his only option he isn't going to agree to be traded there. He wants to go out west. Plus this is a lousy trade for the Wolves. Trade one of the better players in the league for one starter and bunch of junk.

Also, history has shown that three headed monster teams with little else rarely do well. IMO at most you should have 2 STARS with a good supporting cast.

Boston Globe and Boston Herald have just reported it is a done deal!

It's interesting to note that Garnett and Allen have already been part of triple threat teams that have failed.

No he will probably go to LAkers, Phoenix, or Dallas. I can't see him in celtic green. I would like to see him go to new jersey to play with Carter, jefferson, and kidd.

Wow. Boston is really banking on winning soon. Pierce, Allen and KG are all great players, but they are all nearing the end of their careers. Still, they will definitely compete in the East.

If Ainge can get some talented role players around these cats, Boston will make noise in a weak conference.

It is a great move in the short term! Boston should at the very least make the playoffs for a good number of years. But as their Big 3 age, they really need to develop younger talent.

Celts just signed Eddie House, and I also heard they're looking at Mutombo.

ok...so here's my dilemma.....

1) K.G. has always been one of my fave ballers.....top 2 or 3 if not most fave....

2) I FRIGGIN' HATE THE CELTICS.....PASSIONATELY!!! Ever since the Laker days....everytime I heard Bird/Parrish/McHale I wanted to barf

....so does KG move to most hated.....or (perish the thought) do I go Celtic Green?

HELP!!!! eek

You can always root for the player and not the team.

I'll say this - the Atlantic Division will be interesting this season. And the Celtics will be fun to use in NBA 2K8.
