Is it shot the same way he shoots his stills, i.e. black and white, and generally cleaned up of details?

I ain't saying. Just go watch it.

Oh gosh, I just did a search for it on youtube. Looks like my guess was pretty much dead on. falloff

It looks pretty good. No obviously dodgy acting at least. hmmm

Don't go see too much upfront, please. Just go watch it. It is my fave of the year.

Okay, if you go and see This Is England. If you like films that take place in British suburbia I think you might like it a lot, and it's my fave of the year, so far (although technically, I think it came out last year).

Why do I watch these terrible things.

I'm watching "Fur" about Diane Arbus right now, and I suppose it's good enough, except that it sucks.

I watched that one about the sex guy, Kinsey, I saw Capote, Ray etc etc. They all sucked. Capote was okay, but it sucked.

Maybe this one will get better...

Shut it.

I need a Shilpa Shetty biopic, fer sure.

Well, of course!

But that's only because I don't want to pass on my prejudices against biopics to Lucy. She needs to make up her own mind!

Here's a quote from Simone Weil (known for not being a big fan of the genre either...):

"To write the lives of the great in separating them from their works necessarily ends by above all stressing their pettiness, because it is in their work that they have put the best of themselves." -- Simone Weil

TWO GREAT BIOPICS:

Raging Bull, one of Scorcese's finest, about Jake LaMotta.

and,

Citizen Kane, though not actually a biopic, said more about Hearst, both by its content and Hearst's reaction to it, than any true biopic could have.
"Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring faith. If we crave some cosmic purpose, then let us find ourselves a worthy goal" - Carl Sagan
