Leaving California I have lost over 20 treasured clients in the last 12 months to other states. They cash out their houses here and live very well and with more of a lifestyle then they did in my state. Although it was heart breaking at the same time I get it. having travelled a good bit now I myself am convinced my stay in California will end in the next few years. We work far to hard to maintain a roof over our heads here.
My plan is to make a few additional ends in real estate and invest them in property outside this state. Yesterday in economics I studied property conversions and realised I am very interested in the concept. ( In this case, taking a large home and splitting it into several apartments and renting it out.) What state has best long term prospects is a good question. I am not even afraid of the cold now..... Ideas?

I know Florida sucks for selling your house because people can always just build a new one. There is still so much land there.

Ex-Moderator | You know what I'm going to tell you, right?
For purely selfish reasons, of course. Of course, I know nothing of the real estate market. Just that the housing market is as busted here at the moment as it is everywhere else. But it always turns around. The growth here in the last 10 years alone is astounding. |

Try Texas
the market is booming here and in my local town many investors from California are buying up rental properties by the block and renting them out to the military. I'll send ya some info if you like We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color. I was thinking of investing there at the very least... then you can grab a piece and manage it for me! I really am done with this state and its lifestyle..... and the men in Minne were to hot.... I remember staring everytime we were in the straight communities thinking they dont build them here like that.

If his father wasnt so wonderful I'd be gone in a heartbeat. However, that was the few years part... Although I intend to begin laying roots down sooner.... I figure your economy is suitable for both my careers and also affords a slower pace lifestyle.

And I'd LOVE to manage a property for you. I think. You'd love it here, you know you would. |

Well the property market is very fluid over here
We have tons of old grand building that are to big (and expensive) for people to own by themselves and they are often being butchered into flats all the time. Happy is he who finds out the causes for things.Virgil (70-19 BC). Virgil was such a lying bastard!

CA is expensive. i lived in SF for a couple of years. but prices there are insanely high. and, believe it or not, i really really missed the changing of the seasons. so i moved back to relatively unfashionable minneapolis.
here in the midwest (mpls) the quality of life is great, and the cost of living is not so outrageous. good luck with your decision.
