The iPhone!
I actually really want one of the new Shuffles. I prefer to have something that's not SO expensive that I'll be really sad if I break it. I have an older Shuffle, and a 15G iPod, and I use the Shuffle more. oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

Please get Creative instead of an iPod. I've had two and they really suck. They last about a year, long enough for the warranty to expire.

From a storage for the buck standpoint, the 80 GB is the only way to go. A 1 GB shuffle will run you $80 and for $349 you can have 80 times the storage plus video and photo functionality.
I bought my 1st iPod at Best Buy during the 1st generation, I have not paid for another one since. Here's how it works there: 1st iPod $500.00, price drops each year. Extended warranty $60.00 When your iPod battery is at 80% of capacity or lower (meaning it had degraded over time as is normal) you can take it in for replacement. You get full credit for what you paid, buy a new iPod and another extended warranty with the extra left over from the price drop. My last ipod was $400. When the 80 GB came out, I took it in and exchanged it. I had $400.00 credit, paid $349 for the ipod, bought the warranty and it cost me about $20 out of pocket after tax. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

Myself and my family have had numerous models since released and never had a problem with any of them. It's sad you had trouble but you can't use one person's experience and apply that to the overall retail experience with the product.

no offence but people r such suckers for these things, i really dont get it, and these people who buy the ridiculously big ones do u really even fill up 10 gigs of music?
and all these other "features" they put on there r really useless, i mean y waste more battery power looking at fotos while listening to music?...better yet y bother putting them on there in the 1st place, the screen isnt very big so it hardly does photos taken on a decent digi cam ny justice. The only other feature that SHOULD b on ipods is a radio, i mean its a music machine, and the most of them dont have a radio! poor effort. i would recommend go nything BUT ipods, i know plenty of people who have given up on them as other people have stated they dont last the long haul! If you want a quality product that will last you long past the warranty expiry, but still keep going strong, dont get an Ipod. If u want to fork out $100 or whatever every year for a sub par product thats main aim is to get u onto Itunes blowing ur money just so Mr Jobs gets richer go for an ipod Receiving transmission from David Bowie's nipple antenna. I really, really find it annoying when people who have minimal use (or know-how) for a given item or subject tend to think the everyone else is the same way. I have 106GB of music in iTunes and I listen to a hell of a lot of that on a regular basis. Why should I cheap out and just carry around 5 or 10GB of that? Dollars to dougnuts, the album I want to listen to will have been left behind - not to mention having to spend time thinking about what to select versus just having a bulk of the stuff automatically sync over to the iPod. and all these other "features" they put on there r really useless, i mean y waste more battery power looking at fotos while listening to music?...better yet y bother putting them on there in the 1st place, the screen isnt very big so it hardly does photos taken on a decent digi cam ny justice. The only other feature that SHOULD b on ipods is a radio, i mean its a music machine, and the most of them dont have a radio! poor effort.
Again, just because YOU don't use those features, doesn't mean other people are the same. LOTS of people put their photos and movies on the iPod and then take over to a friend/familey member's house and hook it up to a regular entertainment system. Furthermore, the whole point of an iPod is to listen to/watch YOUR music and media when you want it, how you want it. Why is radio important? i would recommend go nything BUT ipods, i know plenty of people who have given up on them as other people have stated they dont last the long haul! If you want a quality product that will last you long past the warranty expiry, but still keep going strong, dont get an Ipod. Can't afford one, aye? The bottom line is that the iPod is a quality designed product that supports a WIDE variety of audio/video formats (including Lossless). If you don't care about being limited, or the sound quality of your music then I'm sure you can get away with compressing the hell out of it and sticking it on some other media player, but I wouldn't be saddled with a product that is inferior to my needs.

ffs y do people always assume cause i know its a bad product brought about by over marketing to pretty much persuade people that there is no other thing on the market like this, or the fact that they r calling it a "revolution" think i cant afford one, im smart enough not to go out and WASTE my money on this crap, unlike most people i look into things before i go out and buy.
If u look at some of the demographics they r reaching out to with this, sure there would b a small percentage of people who would have plenty of music to fill it up with, keyword there is MUSIC, when it came out its primary job was music, which is what it should still b. Half of these kids who have ipods today and the most are kids. Do u really think they would have enough music to fill it up? unless their born with a silver spoon in their mouth i think not! im just saying this cause a lot of people dont bother to go out and inform themselves of new products, they hear about what it does and goes "WOW it does something "new!" i have to get this even tho i dont need it" and then go out and get it only to find out its a dodge product and then have a big whinge about how they spent their money on it to no end. Radio is important cause its a f*cking radio, mate if there was no radios to begin with there would b no ipod, there would b very little music out there, and more to the point there would b no over the top flooding of advertising of the bloody ipod. Is it automatic on all iPods purchased at Best Buy or something that has to be paid for separately? How do you know when the bayyery has reached that point? I have the extended warranty and have taken my iPod in three times for repairs. Next time it breaks they will replace it but if I could get a new one with this trade in I would do it! Apple computers are shit. They cultivate an elitist base with overpriced products and condescending marketing. I bought my first iPod when they sat on the shelf and no-one even knew what they were. The iPod is a product that owns 80% of the market because it works and provides what people ask of it. You think creative isn't corporate? How about the zune? Maybe the gateway mp3 player is more to your liking? Could you please reveal the mp3 player not produced by a corporation? BTW, what exactly has been the marketing of the iPod? A colorful image with a song playing over it? What claims did that make? You're just being a douche for the sake of being a douche. i assume u have seen the over saturated ads all over the place, u can hardly go around a corner without seeing a big poster saying IPOD BUY ONE NOW! i can only imagine what it would b like in the US where billboards r a big part of advertising. now tell me do u ever see ads for other MP3 players on the market? i have NEVER seen an ad for another brand of MP3 player, now doesnt that say something? just in itself? i dont think ipods woulda gone this far without the over the top marketing they pump out with it
personally i think Apple computers r a lot better than PCs well the Imacs nyway. [Edited 7/25/07 21:13pm] Receiving transmission from David Bowie's nipple antenna. Do you read me Lieutenant Bowie, I said do you read me...Lieutenant Bowie

Seriously, enjoy whatever mp3 player you like, hell, start a thread that says "my zen mp3 player make me cum!", but drop the hate for an inanimate object, on a thread where info was asked for on that specific item. It makes you seem irrational. Naked chicks dude, can't we agree on that? Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. Shausler is right, that's a bunch of horse shit right there. If you really think there's another product out there with truly better features then how about enlightening us all by doing a fair comparison side by side? For example, how about another media player that supports similar codecs: iPod (7 + 2 with 3rd party firmware = 9): MP3 (16-320Kbps, VBR) M4A (16-320Kbps AAC) M4P (16-320Kbps Protected AAC) AIFF WAV ALAC (lossless) Audible (v2, 3, and 4) and with 3rd party firmware: Org Vobis FLAC By comparison cnet.com says a Creative Zen Vision W supports ONLY (5): MP3 WAV (The cheapie Zen Stone's don't even support WAV) WMA Protected WMA Audible Zune (4): MP3 (128-320) AAC/MP4 (the docs are unclear, it's possible the software converts this first) WMA Proprietary / Protected WMA (a variant that only the Zune supports)
