Destined To Be Alone? Is there someone out there for everyone, or can some people be destined to be alone no matter how hard they try?
What are your thoughts? Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.

I think there's someone for everyone
I think it all comes down to how you treat people in life. "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood...NOBODY!"

I think it all comes down to how you treat people in life. I don't agree. I am sure there are some wonderful people out there who are alone. I for one have known many kind (old) people, yet they never married or lived with anyone ever. Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.

Well technically I could have a boyfriend/husband any time I want but I want what I want and not to settle! "Alone" isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm alone in my jim-jams right now but don't feel loneliness.

What are your thoughts? This is not a direct answer but one of the biggest determiners of your chances to find the other half is not destiny, personality, or even looks but geography and demography. If you can't find a guy in the US go to China: they have 20 million more men then women and this disproportion is growing rapidly. Lots of love goes to waste over there. I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

That is interesting as one of my Great Aunts never married, she never had a partner. I knew two elderly sisters who lived together till they died, and another elderly woman who lived with her brother all her life, they never married anyone either. I was wondering maybe they lost their love in the war, or they just chose to live their lives without a partner/significant other. I guess I will never know now, as they have all passed on. I have been happy being single in the past, but to tell you the truth, I am not happy about it right now and I haven't been for the last two months. I need to let go of this picky bullshit because it is leading me to loneliness I'll be ok though because I'm still young. I still have time. I'm just impatient.

I don't think there is someone for everyone, that’s something everyone says to comfort another but it's a cliché...there are those who are destine to be alone.

Ex-Moderator | I don't believe in destiny, so I don't believe anyone's destined for anything, alone or together, whatever.
I do think one can lead a happy, fullfilling and complete life without a partner. And I pretty much believe that's what I'll have. It's not that I don't want love or a committed long-term relationship for that matter, I do. More than anything, really. But it's also the one thing I can't imagine "settling" on. I'm happier alone for the right reasons than with someone for the wrong ones. |

There are multiple people out there for everyone; you just gotta find them. Unfortunately, I haven't found one yet. Or maybe I did, but I screwed it up. Best not to think about that too much.
Everyone(everyone!) will be alone at some point, whether it's through death or divorce. You will die alone. That is unless you take everyone down with you in a hail of gunfire. But we can't all go out like champs. Hold on to the good times.

That's pretty depressing. that maybe so but it is true, it's reality for many. the first or second thing we say to someone who's had their heart broken or feel like they'll never find Mr./Mrs. Right., it's comforting...it gives them hope or something to hope for...something to hold on to.
