Wanna talk about boring? The Cure's greatest hits. bored
What a bad idea. Their singles collections however are perfect.

The sentiment is really heartfelt and warm. And it doesn't sound like any of his other ballads. Remember that it was originally from '88 so it's got Lovesexy written all over it. If that's not enough to make you like the song, I don't know what will do it for ya. Of course you don't remember being blown away by it if you think it's boring. Blasphemy! I think you just fell so in love with Peach that you never gave it a chance. Shame on you! no no no!

I did perhaps get too blown away by Peach. I remember having a little resentment against Pink Cashmere for having been the first single here, which I still think was a mistake on his part. However, I'm still listening and I just got to some more strings and guitar- nice. biggrin It is beautiful and heart-felt, but I don't ever see it usurping too many other positions.

Indeed! It was a horrible idea. However, the acoustic versions are nice. biggrin

I think that I only really start paying attention once those strings and that guitar comes in. I do love this song! It's just that Prince has so many stunning songs that it gets stuck behind them. It's like saying that "Alphabet St." is my 8th favorite from "Lovesexy," when it is still top 100 Prince songs. The competition is just too much!

I used to feel the same way about the Hits singles but now I don't really care. Neither one of them seem like top 40 fodder so it wouldn't matter what they put out. Nothing Compares 2 U would've made more sense if WB was trying to get a hit. I used to favor 'Peach' as a song too but as I've grown older I prefer 'Pink Cashmere' now. It's just got a lot more to offer with repeated listenings. 'Peach' is pretty easy to figure out the first time you hear it. But it's a kick-ass song to play along with and always sounds great live. biggrin

Peach will always hold a very dear place in my heart. I think it was the first Prince song that I really anticipated as a single. I was blown away instantly. It still is top 5 songs of all time for me.

Pink Cashmere is beautiful...

And as for Peach... well I immediately was blown away by it myself... but still I can't believe of all the Prince songs.. it was the one that got the ball rolling for me, so to speak... There were so many others that could of provoked the addiction... But yeah... I don't know if all the credit can be given to the song (some should be given to Vassili eh Moonbeam?! wink... but yea, Peach will always be special to me because it was the song that lead to my adoration and appreciation for Prince and everything Prince related... Yay for Peach! heart

Anyway... back to the topic at hand...

Liz is that girl I told you about from high school that looks like Reese Witherspoon. She transfered to my school junior year but I didn't become friends with her til we were seniors. We had like 4 out of 6 classes together and really hit it off. I started to really like her and got the nerve up to tell her over Christmas break. When we came back to school in January she had a new boyfriend named Nathan! Go figure. But she was still one of my very best friends.
