But now I have to stay through at least 2:30pm to attend a meeting. I'm going to fall asleep!!!! How do you stay awake when you need to? |

I would say screw it take a 30 minute power nap in the staff lounge! Carpenters bend wood, fletchers bend arrows, wise men fashion themselves.

But then I'll wake up with bed head. And I'd probably drool or something. |

But then I'll wake up with bed head. And I'd probably drool or something. Awww... That would be my concern, too. Well, the drooling bit. Or me snoring like a wilderbeast and waking up to see people munching on sandwiches next to me.

Oh my God. That is one hell of a long day they expect you to work!?! Just don't sit near any boring colleagues and Org like crazy. That should do the trick.

For one carrie, its a damn shame they don't have pillows in your staff lounge.Number 2, Its 6 in the morning for fucks sake, go ahead and snooze, who cares if you sound like an indigenous jungle animal, you will feel better. I'm not sure if that's the exact phrase to convince Carrie a nap in the break room is what she should do. They just replaced the chairs in our Staff Room and it looks like a bloody prison waiting area now. Quite apt, actually. No wonder I never go in there.

Also, I have found that on long road trips (I have driven 25 straight hours once) when I have to stay awake, a bag of sunflower seeds works wonders. Its the constant chewing, cracking of the shell, spitting, and reaching for more seeds that keeps you awake. Carpenters bend wood, fletchers bend arrows, wise men fashion themselves.

Yes from Southern California to Seattle, Washington. With a couple rest stops, breaks to get breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and a one hour power nap at some park in Ukiah california. I made it safely, ate breakfast, and proceeded to sleep for 10 hours. Carpenters bend wood, fletchers bend arrows, wise men fashion themselves.

If my boss mad me wake up at 3:30 for the job, I'd simple call her/him and say I needed to go home and nap in order to make the meeting.
It's just not natural if you're a day worker to adjust to those hours without some ramifications.
