Once I woke up in the middle of the night and felt sudden uneasiness. I was hearing strange squeaky sounds. Soon I realized that somebody was clearly going through my kitchen.

I was scared shit-less. I didn't know what to do.

I hoped it was all a bad dream, or wind, or anything but a fucking gunned burglar.shake After five minutes of being completely stiff, I decided to take the heaviest thing in my room (metal lamp) and confront the intruder.cowboy

As I was nearing the stairs, the sounds got louder and more realistic. Now I knew it was not a dream. Somebody was browsing through my cereals (why would a burglar go through my food - that I didn't bother to think of the time).

I finally reached the kitchen and entered it as fast as I could. Suddenly all sounds stopped. The kitchen was empty! It became so quiet I could hear my blood running though my veins.
Breath in, breathe out...skull

THEN A VOICE! omg

"Sir!"

I froze in place. boxed

"Sir, I'm afraid you will have to go with us."

At once I realized that the voice belonged to a policeman who tried to talk a local beggar out of going through the garbage can that stands on the street that my kitchen window goes into.

Then I fainted. lol

I was never scared at night this much ever before or after.

Yeah... it's VERY unnerving. shake

Did that happen when I was there?
I don't remember. I don't think it happens too often. Not sure when. But when I wake up after it happens, my eyes are a bit burning and dry.

My friend in boarding school thought I was dead one night. Apparently it didn't bother him too much because he went back to sleep. neutral

i usually don't wake myself up, but i was cackling up a storm last night. i think it's how my subconscious deals with stress.

I do some weird shit in my sleep.... and it used to be worse.

When I was small I had night terrors BAD,the doctor said I'd grow out of them and I did but Ihave issues with sleep forever because of it.

They started with me sleep walking around the house, turning on all the lights and all the faucets, then I'd go back to my bedroom get in bed and start screaming and screaming, and screaming.

Now I sleep mostly ok if I can actually get to sleep.

I grind my teeth in times of stress.

In times of incredible stress, I do still sleep walk but only enough to change my clothes. confused If I'm wearing say a tshirt and shorts, I might walk up topless in sweat pants, or in a pair of flannel pjs. They are always sleep clothes I change into though.

If anyone touches me while I'm in a deep sleep, I will punch you in the face before I wake up.

Oh and least of all.... I snore.
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

I had a nightmare and started speaking in tongues as I was being killed by a killer, or was it the killer speaking in tongues? It doesn't matter I woke up to my girlfriend sitting up staring at me horrified because I had started.... speaking in tongues. I stopped the nonsense, woke up, opened my eyes, looked at her and said.....

"Hello?"

she said, "What the fuck?"

A very good friend of mine suffers from night terrors and it is asbsolutely horrifying to hear. shake Chills you to the bone. shake God knows what he is experiencing in his sleep. A couple of times he has stayed over my house and I have woken up to hear him screaming - it really is horrible. Apparently it is all related to sexual abuse that he experienced as a child. sad

Poor guy.

If it's any consolation, I've heard that for many sufferers of true night terrors, they percieve them in such a state of consciousness that they often don't recall what they were dreaming the instant they awake.

I heard one sleep therapist put it this way: Nightmares scare the hell out of the dreamer; night terrors scare the hell out of his/her spouse, friends, parents, etc.

Did I ever tell you guys about the time that I woke myself up because my legs were kicking each and every way. Yes, I was dancing. I laughed my ass off after that. This was after a great night of dancing.
