I just came home from a night shift and hadn't gotten any sleep the day before

have double espresso with one shot, double double and all your problems will be solved

OMG, this thread was SO me yesterday. I went out dancing on Sunday night, so I felt like trash all throughout Monday. Usually Sunday night dance sessions don't faze me, but this time it did because before that I went running in the morning *and* rollerblading in the afternoon. So I was mad active.

To stay awake yesterday, I was drinking loads of caffeine -- coffee, soda, red bull, etc. Took a nap on the commute home. Got home and drunk even more caffeine.

The thing that sucks is I will drink loads of caffeine during the day and yawn like crazy all day. But, when it reaches nighttime, all the caffeine kicks in and I actually STAY UP 'til after midnight. It's wack.

But today is good, I'm pretty much back to normal. I think.

caffiene addict right here too!! I had espresso 2 days in a row and felt like shit yesterday for going back to my regular tea. Never have that stuff 2 days in a row, it'll make you feel like you were run over the next day

lol I'm not really a "caffeine addict" it was just one of those days where I needed to stay awake and caffeine was pretty much the only solution.

Other than that I tend to drink decaf, no sugar everything.

Caffeine. Lots of caffeine.

I just worked 15 days in a row, four of those days were 15 hour work days, the rest were 10 hour work days. Plus, we partied almost every night.

I have no idea how I survived it.

If my boss mad me wake up at 3:30 for the job, I'd simple call her/him and say I needed to go home and nap in order to make the meeting.

It's just not natural if you're a day worker to adjust to those hours without some ramifications.

It's my own fault for volunteering to do the meeting. I didn't think ahead.

And really, I could go home, but I'd rather press through and leave early later this week.

I agree on the whole nap thing. A 10 to 15 minute nap will do wonders.

I never understood how to do this. When I set an alarm clock, how do I know when I fall asleep? How do I know when I will have slept 10-15 minutes? Or do you fall asleep just like that? Always takes me some time.

Most of the timed naps I've taken have been at work because of a late night so I ask a co-worker to wake me up. I don't have trouble falling right asleep if I've been sleep deprived the previous night.

Anxiety

days like this are why i don't drink energy drinks or espresso drinks unless i REALLY need them. because when i really need a boost, i don't have a tolerance built up and they're all the more potent for when i need them.

that said, in future occurrences i highly recommend the ROCKSTAR POMEGRANATE energy drink and/or a double espresso from your local coffee shop...then LOTSA water. nod

nod The more holistic ,the better because caffiene jolts are a temporary fix that don't last long.

oh, you pay big for caffeine and energy drink rushes, but sometimes ya just gotta have that jump start to get you through work, then you can go home and ride out the crash. it's certainly not something i do often, but it's there when i need it. and i always make sure to drink LOTS of water when i go this route. nod

She could have just fucked things up worse than they were.

That depends on whether or not she needs to speak at the meeting, the might be slurring her words a lot if she's been biting her tongue. lol
