I went in with low expectations.

The movie turned out to be far better than I'd expected. It needed to have cut about 30 minutes from it, but it had a decent story. Decent cast, too.

The American-vehicles thing was very obvious, as was the prominence of the U.S. armed forces. Seeing it on Independence Day stirred up all sorts of weird feelings; I was all over the place on that one.

And, two words: Peter Cullen. woot!

It was your classic 4th of July, American feel good movie ala (Pearl Harbor, Independence day, etc.), but done better. lol

I mean it had all the greatest hits:

1) US Military show of strength (I almost jizzed myself watching the F-22 battle and the a-10 Warthog appearance jerkoff )
2) A bunch of U.S. soldiers "protecting" the little town in Quatar--you know, our "allies", whose relationship is based souly on US money lol

3) American cars (remember the ugly ass yellow camero)

4) American figures in high positions (this time it's the secretary of defense), taking the battle into their own hands falloff. But it wasn't as corny as Independence Day--at least the president doesn't fight aliens in a fighter jet lol

This movie was so proud to be American it's not even funny lol

But I thought it was WILDY entertaining. THe battle scenes make Spider-man 3 look like Ghandi, and comedic scenes weren't bad either.

But what I want to know is. Las Vegas, when Robots are duking it out in your city for an hour, why the hell are women still carrying grocery bags in the streets? Yall need to heed the warning signs! lol

There were alot of things wrong, esp with the Decepticons! Like, Devastastor being a tank instead of 5 separate robots, Megatron transforming into a jet AND making him look totally differnt...I realize making him into a handgun would have been lame, but at least make him into a tank or something with a big gun...

That's the weird thing about Transformers... why did Megatron turn into a gun of all things... he's the leader of the Decepticons! He turns into the lamest thing... Then Galvatron also turns into a gun! disbelief At least it can stand without someone holding it.

Being a fan of the Transformers when I was a little kid in the 80s, I had tall expectations of this film and to my surprise it was a very good movie! The special effects were simply amazing. I thought the main character's parents were hillarious. The mom telling the federal agents that she'd kick their ass if they stepped in her flowers. Priceless. The dad and his garden path was just as fun as the pill popping "Taco Bell dog". It was a summer blockbuster that screams EXCITEMENT, especially if you watched the cartoon, read the comic books, and played with the action figures as a kid.

I highly reccomend it. It is pure fun!
Anthony Anderson and Bernie Mac are also in the film to provide even more comic relief.

It was great fun, but yes, it was just too long.

They could have trimmed 30 minutes of it an I wouldn't have cared.
The nasty scorpion thing they were fighting in the desert. That entire scene could have been taken out of the movie, even though love my a-10 warthogs. neutral
