Hey Does Anybody Remember The Sims Computer Game?

Since I've been staying with my nephews, they have been playing it a lot, it really is a fun game. What you first is create your family. You get to pick out whether it is male or female, hair color, outfit, personality traits, etc. Next you get to actually build your house, and put in it whatever you want (TV, stereo, swimming pool, etc.). Then when you get all that done, you click a button on your computer keyboard, and the Sims characters kind of come to life and start walking around the house. You can tell the Sims characters what to do (although they don't always do it). What's funny is the characters have human-like traits. For instance, if they're walking around the house and they don't like something that you picked out, they will shake their heads. They speak, but it's not even English (it kinda sounds like Pig Latin, honestly). lol This game is really addictive, and I can see why my nephews enjoy it so much. Shoot, even I'm getting into it. lol
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Oooh, I did just that! I was done when I had the house and the charater ready. I used cheatcodes to get as much money as possible and build HUUUUGE mansions.. biggrin

But occasionaly I did play with the characters, but it usually ended up in me making two girls or two guys kiss.. lol

OMG! I was so addicted to it! One day I spent 6 hours straight playing it. I even stopped posting on the org lol

I took a stand and sold it on ebay. I couldn't waste my time like that on a daily basis.

I haven't played The Sims in years. I bought The Sims 2 and the expansion packs up to Open for Business, but then I bought a new monitor and the game wouldn't work on it, so I just sold all the games shrug

That was one of the things you could do. The whole point of the game was to control the lives of the Sims. They have to eat, go to the bathroom, be entertained, they have to socialize, and a whole bunch of other things. I liked to build houses and decorate them. I didn't play the actual game very much lol

It takes a lot of preplanning and timing to get it right! The mime sucked!

We liked trying to kill them. No ladder in the pool. Or all of a sudden there was no way out because you took the door away. Good times! We'd also try to do the Ghetto House. Oh and the first 3 days of a babies life is HELL!

I've never played it but it sounds interesting. I may have to download it. hmmm

I went to a music industry conference last summer and one of the meetings was about placing your music in games, and they had one of the developers of the Sims there and he was talking about how they actually developed the whole "Simglish" language and how there are people who actually can speak it! It's like the 21st century version of Klingon.

Im more of the Grand Theft Auto type, but I'm glad to see that there are other people on here hooked on games. It makes me feel not so lame. lol

I love the Simglish. I saw a small documentory before SIMS 2 came out and it showed them in the recording studio speaking out all of the words.

giggle The other day when I was playing Sims with my nephews, we had a birthday party, with cake and balloons. We told the one Sims to clean up, because the party was over. Instead of putting the cakes into the garbage, the Sims put them in the dishwasher! falloff

Another funny thing is when one of the Sims has to use the restroom. They hold their crotch and make a little wimpering sound. If you don't send them to the bathroom, they pee right there on the floor, then you have to make them clean it up. lol

It's also hysterical when one of the Sims is doing something in the kitchen, and they accidentally start a fire. lol You have to send them out of the house, and call the fire department to put out the fire. lol

This game is just too much fun!!
