I just ate the most vegetarian lunch ever..

I had stuffed bell peppers from trader joes, a baked potatoe with just pepper and chives (no butter or sour cream) and a ceasar salad. It was actually pretty good. But I have not had a meal sans meat, poultry, fish in years. It was nice and all but I don't think I could give up meat forever. Just thought I'd share. Carnivores, I challenge you to go meatless for one meal just to see how it feels. Vegetarians- Eat a steak. lol

I'm not a vegetarian, but I don't eat much meat or poultry. If I didn't love chicken so much, I would be a vegetarian nod

I do meatless all the time espcially if there is pasta involved. I can have a bowl of just rice and be happy. What's hard for me is going carbless, now that is pretty much impossible for me.

i don't even think of myself as vegetarian anymore. i just instinctively don't eat meat anymore, it's just a force of habit. i just like interesting, tasty food, preferably drowned in chinese hot sauce! biggrin

going w/out meat is pretty cool. It really moves weight off...i've noticed. That soy stuff you get at a grocer is pretty good too.

I could totally go meatless. But couldn't go w/out dairy or cheese.

but when i did the no meat thing..i really didn't miss meat...except a nathan's frank!! and maybe a chicken sammich. I'm totally down w/ no meat

i like a simple bowl of rice for a meal too, now and then. that with a cup of really yummy tea can really hit the spot at times.

Caesar salad isn't quite vegan, though, is it?

nope. anchovies. they make veggie caesar salad mix, but it was never a favorite of mine anyway. i'm happy with a simple three-greens salad and a good vinagrette. but you're close!

I never liked it before, but it's become one of my favorites

Even w/o anchovies, the dressing is cream based, too, right? Also parmassean cheese.

To be fair, I guess he never claimed it was vegan.

yeah, it's got a lot of dairy going on. i don't pay as much attention to that being that i'm a strict vegetarian and not vegan...well, i'm kind of a vegan tourist...i am to veganism as people are to vegetarianism who say "i don't eat meat...except sometimes i need to have a cheeseburger!"

There's a lot of different ways to look at it, I guess, and alot of different reasons to eat (not eat) stuff.

I think vegetarianism is like carbon offsetting. If someone doesn't eat their meat us meat eaters can buy their share of meat at a higher price and indulge guilt free smile
