ASK THAT NEW WAVE GUY ANYTHING!

OK, so I'm gonna go out of my usual non-conforming way and fall in line with everyone here by starting up one of these "ask me" threads.

smile Go ahead, ask me anything....

No I didn't actually. It was the Hip-Hop crowd that I was more concerned about.

hmmm That's a tough one since there's too many to list. But I'll randomly just say "Make The Weather" by The Waitresses.

Goldfrapp is aiiight, but a lot of their songs sound the same. They have that "boom-chicka-boom" kind of tempo. I do see the New Wave influence though. smile

No because I'd like a deal that would offer me complete creative and musical control. I learned from my purple hero about that. wink

1) Cuz New Wave rules! cool
2) All great bands from the UK
3) That's not a quesiton, but mad props to your New Wave style anyways.
4) It already has happened in the last couple years with bands like The Rapture, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party, Maximo Park, Hot Hot Heat, etc. Although I can't really compare them to the old school cats. And I didn't know Squeeze was teaming up with Crowded House this summer. omg Now that I've gotta see!
5) Too many to name: Love Will Tear Us Apart, New Toy, Just Got Lucky, Goody Two Shoes, Town Called Malice, Save It For Later, Rio, It's My Life, etc.
6) One of the icons of the New Wave era and certainly one of my all-time favorites. smile

Please come back, Adam. sad

Here's some of the new wave I have in my collection:
B52's, Big Country, Blonde, The Call, Cars, Devo, F.Y. Cannibals, Fixx, INXS, Joe Jackson, Midnight Oil, Pet Shop Boys, Simple Minds, Talking Heads, Tears For Fears. I had to buy it all over again when I switched to cd's from albumes.

I know. Even Melvin from Ready For The World tried that. lol It's silly, I know. Just be yourself, dammit!

As for Madonna....well, she has been living in the UK for some time now. So "when in Rome...", as they say. shrug

I noticed her change in speech on her "Music" cd from 2000. She hadn't been living there for very long..... lol

Yes, they're great too. Even the early Post-Punk stuff (which I had no idea they were apart of) was fascinating. But "Cupid & Psyche" was my joint though. nod

I met Green last year at his concert too. Very nice guy. smile

1) Even though you haven't found the true love, are you getting out there and meeting some nice gals?

2) Also, what would be your ideal lineup for a new wave revival concert?

1) Yes, in fact I'm currently seeing a nice young lady at the moment.

2) hmmm That's tough since there's so many that I'd love to see. Maybe The B-52's, Gang of Four, Pylon, and Tom Tom Club together at a festival. That would blow my mind. eyepop
