If the Pistons don't get to the NBA Finals, there should be an investigation.
Good matchup on now between Miami & Chicago.

EAST
(1)Pistons vs. (8)Magic...biggest mismatch of the first round....should be illegal..... (2)Cavs vs. (7)Wizards...if their big guns weren't injured, the Wizards would've been the pick... (3)Raptors vs. (6)Nets...Chris Bosh = NBAs next big thing..... (4)Heat vs. (5)Bulls....toss up....but experience is hard to beat.. West (1)Mavericks vs. (8)Warriors....if the Mavs blow this one, their 67 wins are phonier than a $3 bill..... (2)Suns vs. (7)Lakers....read my lips....tired of hearing the words KOBE BRYANT.... (3)Spurs vs. (6)Nuggets.....but it'd be nice for AI and Carmello to get this one..... (4)Jazz vs. (5)Rockets....Tracy and Yao...nuff said... He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.

Here's how I see it panning out.
EAST (1) Detroit (53-29) vs. (8) Orlando (40-42) The Magic are simply overmatched by the Pistons are nearly every position. Plus, the Pistons have way too much experience. Detroit in 5. (4) Miami (44-38) vs. (5) Chicago (49-33) This is a bit of an upset pick, as Miami has been hurt. I like the way the team rallied after Wade went down with an injury. I don't see Chicago having enough experience to contend with the Heat, and O'Neal is bound to perk up yet again. That said, I'm rooting for Chicago. Miami in 6. (3) Toronto (47-35) vs. (6) New Jersey (41-41) The Nets have way too much firepower for the Raptors and they are much more playoff savvy. The Nets are one of those teams that seems content to flick on the switch when the playoffs begin while cruising through the regular season. Toronto has had a great season, but there doesn't seem to be enough veteran leadership to take out the Nets. New Jersey in 6. (2) Cleveland (50-32) vs. (7) Washington (41-41) The Cavs got a nice break by landing in the 2 seed and seeing the depleted Wizards fall to a 7. Without their big guns, Washington doesn't stand a chance. Cleveland in 5. WEST (1) Dallas (67-15) vs. (8) Golden State (42-40) The battle of mentor vs. protege will go to the protege. The Warriors finally have a reason to celebrate this season, but the playoffs are an entirely different beast. Dallas in 4. (4) Utah (51-31) vs. (5) Houston (52-30) Both of these teams are moving in the right direction and are hoping to relive their past glory of the mid-late 90s. Both would be contenders in the East but face a tough, tough road out West. Houston has a knack for choking, and the Jazz are growing up fast. Utah in 6. (3) San Antonio (58-24) vs. (6) Denver (45-37) The aging Spurs face the newly revamped Nuggets in what figures to be the most intriguing first round matchup. The Nuggets have been on fire lately, as were the Spurs before the Suns clinched the 2 seed. San Antonio in 7. (2) Phoenix (61-21) vs. (7) L.A. Lakers (42-40) A rematch of a surprisingly close series a year ago, Phoenix has more firepower this year and the Lakers seem even more lost than last year trying to figure out which version of Kobe will show up. Phoenix in 5. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Round 2:
(1) Detroit vs. (4) Miami These teams have developed quite the rivalry over the past few years and know each other well. While the Pistons were the overwhelming favorite last year, they seem to have refocused their energy on preparing for a deep playoff run. Miami's injuries prove too much. Detroit in 6. (2) Cleveland vs. (6) New Jersey The second tier of teams in the East includes both of these teams. The Cavs are trying to get to their first Conference Final in recent years, while the Nets are trying to regain their chemistry and their swagger from earlier in the decade. Experience wins again. New Jersey in 7. (1) Dallas vs. (4) Utah Old Midwest Division rivals meet in a battle of teams on the rise. Utah actually matches up quite well against Dallas, but Dirk will show shy he is MVP and deliver a Dallas in 7. (2) Phoenix vs. (3) San Antonio Defense has always proven to be the Achilles Heel for the Suns, but I really feel that they have made strides there, and San Antonio's tendency to rely too much on Duncan will cost them the series. Phoenix in 7. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Conference Finals
(1) Detroit vs. (6) New Jersey Both of these teams have a lot of experience and a lot of bitterness after recent drop-offs. Only one will get the chance to return to the Finals. Detroit's depth will prove to be the difference. Detroit in 6. (1) Dallas vs. (2) Phoenix Lots of great storylines here. Both teams featured 17-game winning streaks during the course of the season and ran away from the pack. Old teammates Nash vs. Dirk in a rematch of last year's conference final. Dirk earlier in the season said that a loss to Phoenix kept him up all night. It should. Phoenix has the mental edge. Phoenix in 7. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

NBA Championship
(1) Detroit vs. (2) Phoenix Both teams ended up one series short of the Finals last year and will be hungry for a championship. Phoenix has superior talent, while Detroit has superior experience. I just don't see anyone keeping up with the Suns this year. Phoenix in 6. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Very happy that the Cavaliers moved up the the No. 2 seed in the East, but if they did not win down the stretch, they are looking at the Miami Heat in the No. 4-No. 5 nailbiter.
All things considered, if the Cavaliers play it right, the Cavaliers will advance to the Eastern Conference finals against ... either Detroit or Chicago. I'm still up in the air about this. I don't believe the Heat has the power they had last year. I believe the Bulls have a grudge and will seek redemption this first round against Miami. It would be interesting if the Cavaliers meet the Bulls in the conference finals (ah, memories of the Bulls-Cavs series of the late 1980s, early 1990s), but I wouldn't mind seeing LeBron and the Cavs against Detroit Basketball for the right to go to the NBA Finals. Oh, round one, even though they started, the Cavaliers will sweep the Wizards. As for the West .. Kobe Bryant, though great he is (and my vote for MVP of the NBA this year), and the Lakers, will not make it past this first round. Suns in five. As for the rest of the west, oh boy, may the best team win the conference. It's a toss-up between the Mavericks, Spurs and Suns. Spurs, though, might not make it to the conference finals, leaving Dallas and Phoenix. As for the NBA Finals -- either the Cavaliers or the Pistons in the East, and the Suns representing the West. Ah, time will tell. From now until mid-June, hold onto your wigs.

I don't have any predictions, but I do have a few "hopes".
I would love to see the Raptors move forward in the playoffs. I don't see them winning the finals but I hope they get by the Nets. Vince Carter is a whiner and a momma's boy! Bosh has come so far this year too. It's been great to watch him. I would also love to see the Lakers kick some ass too. Kobe has played beautifully this season.
