I don't know much about the way she raised her son or whether he was a devout, good-natured choirboy, but spending a long time in a violent war zone getting shot at or bombed by enemy soldiers and watching your own comrades die at their hands will do serious damage to you psyche, even if you had a happy, well-adjusted upbringing.

Sadly, the kind of stuff that was posted on his Myspace page is all too common in a war zone, and this leads to post-traumatic stress disorder when and if the soldier comes back home. Some soldiers have been coming back from Iraq, and at times have gone into bars with their best buddies drinking, laughing and having a good time; then someone's car alarm goes off outside and they snap into a violent rage and start attacking their friends or other bar patrons. What's even more frightening is that these soldiers desperately need mental health treatment, yet their VA benefits are being cut as they come home from the war.

As for Dr. Laura, it's one thing for her to spout her venomous bile at people who opposed the war, but she really has some nerve to tell the spouses and families of soldiers fighting in the war to keep their mouths shut. If I had a loved one fighting in this war, I'd slap her ass silly.
