I haven't had one yet, but with breast cancer being discovered in younger and younger women, I may want to get one sooner rather than later.

All of the women I know who have had one say the shit hurt because of the flattening to get the imaging. I heard recently that having a physical exam in conjunction with the mammogram is recommended because the thermo-imaging doesn't always show if something is there.

Someone once sent me a MaMMogram for my birthday.
She had one of the biggest racks I've ever seen,
and I must confess,
I ended up increasing her chances of getting throat cancer.

but my mum says it hurts, they need to press your breast pretty flat - I think it is easier if your breasts are larger and less dense.

I went to Asheville's Breast center there were around 15 other women there in and out in the same 20 minutes I was there. Some were older and some were 20-30

most came out of the rooms with smiles on their faces and chuckling with their nurse/tech . It did not seem to me that any felt uncomfortable. I spoke with 5 other women while waiting. one was her 1st time too and she didnt seem concened and the other 4 mentioned the pressure and slight discomfort but did not mention pain.

It really was cool to see the instant digital x-ray

My mom told me once it kinda hurts cause basically the machine squishes your boob.


Ouch!!! now my boobies hurt thinking about it.
