De La Hoya Got Robbed!!!!!!!!!! De La Hoya Got Robbed! De La Hoya did run out of gas around the 10th round. I think Oscar won the first 7 rounds. All mayweather did was go backwards. Mayweather is all speed and no power. Besides, You have to decisively beat the champion to take the title. Either way I have much respect for Oscar for fighting a good fight.

Look, LaHoya's past his prime, you could se it in his footwork and his lazy southpaw jabs (wtf was that??) All Mayweather had to do was find his rythym and keep low and choose his punches. And that's what he did. Sure the refs probably miscalled a lot of shots, but Mayweather has established himself in recent years as a real game day player.

My brother said the same thing you said. He also tought De La Hoya won the fight. All Mayweather kept doing is steppin' back like a little bitch.

The audience got all caught up in the hype everytime he did that, failing to realize that it wasn't really hurting Mayweather. And it seemed that he kept doing it once he got Mayweather on the ropes. Plus Hoya was getting tired quick. Mayweather played it smart and landed more of punches, although he wasn't "wild" with it which made it seem like he wasn't doing much of anything. It's the smarter move. The fight was pretty good, but no where near the excitement of the Tyson fights in his prime. Now that was boxing, that was when you actually hosted boxing parties. I disagree. You watch that match again. What people thought was a flurry of hits from De La Hoya wasn't nothing but a bunch of girlie fight type flailing and swinging. He never landed any of those punches anywhere but on Mayweather's arms and shoulders. Mayweather is a true boxer. He was blocking the hell outta his punches. Look at the stats. Mayweather threw 100 fewer punches but landed almost 100 more that De La Hoya. The right man won. And it showed. De La Hoya looked wiped out near the end and could barely keep his arms up. Mayweather was still floating like a butterfly.

The real boxing "purists" gave that bout to Mayweather. I agree to an extent...De La Hoya brought the fight to Mayweather (like Oscar said, "If I didn't initiate the fight, there would have been no fight") The right man won this fight, but I seriously don't think a draw would have been out of the question. De La Hoya's strategy wasn't right the whole night...he allowed Mayweather to fight in the middle of the ring, a place where Mayweather dominated the fight. Oscar should have "Tysoned" him, bully him into the ropes and throw the bombs. Although that isn't normally how Oscar fights, this was the only way for him to win this fight. No knockdowns, but that doesn't have to be the be-all-end-all to a great fight. This was a very good fight, but you had to be a BOXING fan to appreciate it. Audience, you brought back some memories....that Meldrick Taylor vs Chavez fights was the best fight I ever saw....Taylor looked too strong and fast for
Julio that whole night...man, i was in a house full of mexicans and we were PISSED....then, in the final round, Chavez found that famous inner-mexican heart and WHOP, took him out for the count in the final seconds. Man, you never saw a happier bunch of Mexicans outside of Cinco De Mayo...
