Hello, Hows it going! All this talk of spicy food is making me want to make an indian food run!
[Edited 5/5/07 10:06am]

i was thinking the same thing...i've been craving ethiopian lately, but i think i need to settle for an indian buffet today. bring on the samosas! drool

I had ethiopian yesterday. It was drool .

I took my friend who had never had it, and who always hates anything new the first time she tries it. It was funny. I was looking forward to seeing what the complaint would be. I figured it would be the injera, and I was right, but I didn't anticipate the exact complaint: "ew, it's like octopus skin!" whofarted rolleyes

At least she tries stuff. And usually decides it's ok a couple of years (!) later.

Indian. Yes. I'm having Indian tonight. Good call.

But I'm a wuss compared to some of you with the heat. I like food to be just a little spicy (2 or 3 "stars" lol ). I can HANDLE lots of heat, but I really prefer just a pleasant sparkly sensation. I like to be able to actually taste what I'm eating, not just feel it burn. shrug
oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

A lot of places advertise to have "spicy" food, but its just not spicy! None of those "spicy" hot sauces at Taco Bell and Jack In The Box are spicy! I put more than two packs of the red extra hot sauce in Taco Bell tacos when I eat them, and I put hot sauce on fries too!
I think the hot sauce or salsa is really spicy if you cry!
Anyone else's opinion?
I know we have different opinions on what spicy is, but I think a lot of food out there in Mexican and taco places don't have spicy sauces.

I heard that those closest to him have whispered that this was Beckham's complaint about Posh after he married her.

I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

ok, just gotta get this off my chest:

TABASCO SAUCE IS FOR BABIES!!!

when i was a kid it was supposed to be like the "pinnacle" of spicy. PUH-LEEZE!

i think it's more vinegar-y than anything else. i KINDA like the green tabasco just for flavoring, but when i want the kind of heat i enjoy in my food, i usually reach for my chinese chili sauce because it's FAR hotter than tabasco and i think it digests friendlier as well. nod

Agreed. Tabasco always seemed nearly forbidden for its epic spiciness, but it's a cakewalk! I use it because I like the taste.

I tried cooking with some habanero peppers in the dish. It wasn't hot at all. I ended up just putting some raw habanero peppers to the side and eating a bite of the pepper each time I ate a bite of the food. It was hot that way. I think they lose their heat if you cook them.

I traveled with my husband on business trips years ago. Since I'm younger and healthy the decision was made to take out a substantial life insurance policy on myself since we have 3 children, in case anything happened to us.
He took me to an eastern Indian resturant in Manhatten and ordered everything "extra hot". I thought he was trying to kill me. mad
