one caveat for me... my bottom sheet has to be tight... and my top sheet has to be smooth lurking can't deal with "bed falling apart" messes

I like to be efficient so I can enjoy more free time. Making a bed that I am going to mess up 17 hours later is a waste of that time. shrug I make it when I have guests, however. nod

I tend to get up in the afternoon.
Late afternoon.
And I sleep naked on a mattress on the floor.
And I live in my mom's basement.
And I'm a regular visitor to this site.

So,
no

.....I don't.

Not usually. Sometimes I kind of throw the sheets and comforter up to give it the pleasant illusion of being made. And occasionally I actually do make it. But never in the morning. Because by the time I'm fully awake (as in actually feeling awake) it's afternoon. So I don't make my bed in the morning unless I'm feeling ill or something. lol

Yes I make my bed everyday because I know when I leave my cats take over. The one day I don't make my bed and I come home from work to a hairball in my sheets!

or at a hotel room... i have to semi make the bed
if the bed doubles as your couch then it has to be straightend!
but as someone who cleaned rooms at a resort once
never ever fastidiously make the bed for your cleaning person
it takes much longer to pull it apart if you have to first
determine if anyone actually slept in the damn thing.

I used to be a roomkeep for the Radisson and any good roomkeep will strip the bed regardless of assumption. Nowadays when I use a hotel room I always strip the bed and towels, and then pile them by the door before I check out so the roomkeeps have an easy time. Funny how some things stick with you.

oh yeah i totally agree... strip regardless.
the resort i was at was not that big
and at the height of the season if all beds were used
there weren't enough sheets to do all the cabins
so you tried to skimp if you could
that and it just annoyed me if someone made the bed all nice and neat rolleyes
i'm just going to tear it apart for heaven's sake.
and when i leave a room i put all the towels in the tub
but by the door is probably more practical isn't it.

cool i bet the two of us still fold our sheets and towels the same way
do you make a diamond on the toilet paper edge for your guests? biggrin

Totally understand being resourceful when you only have so much. The Radisson would get that way when we would have a convention come in. Funny how the Women's Convention always tipped big and cleaned after themselves while the Basketball Conventions or male orientated conventions would come through and leave nothing but a huge mess.

Actually the tub sounds more practical since the towels are dirty in the first place, I will try that next time. biggrin

Yes I still fold the same, and the day I do have company I probobly will fold the tp all nice. . .and maybe some fresh cut flowers! biggrin

It is true that having a neat surroundings can lower stress levels. I am obsessive about keeping my office organized for that reason. nod Bed, not so much.

nod i only make my bed cause my room is so damn small that it takes up 90% of the floor space, and its the only place to sit, or do anything on! lol When I had a bigger room I would just leave it though.

every time I come home the dog has pulled back the covers and gotten all cosy in there anyway confused

I believe in the calming effects of neatness. nod

That has been a progression for me. I went from living in very messy surroundings to my current better-but-still-not-there state of being. I'm steadily improving. There will probably come a point when I really do make the bed every day, but it's not that high on my priority list.

my dog does the same thing. and i can never get cross with him
because i'll come home in the middle of the night on saturday,
and he'll be all snugged up in my bed looking cute as a puppy.

you know just can't tell him "you're not allowed to joris" at
that time. i just cuddle up beside him and let him sleep next
to me.

I'm such an ass. If I caught my dog on my bed when I hadn't invited him to be there, I'd yell at him. boxed

Dog hair still finds its way into my bed, though. lol

He and I do have an understanding that the couch is all his at night.

One reason I don't like making my bed is my bedroom is so dang narrow. I have to squeeze in this very tight place between the dresser and the bed. Probably wouldn't make much difference if I had more room though. Like I say, it's not a priority.
