Dallas has no ball DEFENSE at all. The GS had way 2 many layups in that game. They got 2 the hole at will.

The Warriors have been doing that pretty much at will against every team for the last month or so.

They did go 16 - 5 over the last 21 games of the season and 9 - 1 in the last 10 with the toughest schedule in the league over that time including home wins over Utah, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and road wins over Dallas, Utah and Detroit. Now look what they did to Dallas in the playoffs.

I'm telling everyone that will listen...THE WARRIORS ARE FOR REAL! They may not win the championship of even go to the finals, but they are going to give every team they play problems.

And it would not surprise me at all if they go to the Western Conference finals and give either Phoenix or San Antonio one hell of a time!

nod Could you imagine that series!!!! As much as Golden State and Phoenix like to run!

I might go broke but if the Warriors make it that far, especially against Phoenix, I have to go!

That would be a very good series also...the Warriors defense is extremely underated. They lead the league in steals per game and really clamped down on Nowitzki in the playoffs.

Tha Hawks are not doing so well. Mookie is doing alright but Steve Smith is taking over in close games. It's syill not enough too make the playoffs though.

Talking about the Hawks, how in the world did the GM and the coach did not get fired? They SUCK and no one gets fired..

Sounds like NY....Knicks are in salary-cap hell, finish 33-49 with the highest payroll in NBA history, and Zeke gets an extension. Shows you how horrible Jim Dolan is - the WORST owner in professional sports.

Same with the Hawks... I think if they don't finish in the top three in the draft, they lose the player to the suns. Atleast dolan spends some money unlike the sorry ass hawks owners.

The Hawks have a horrible history of awful trades and poor decisions.

Just think, we traded Wilkins, who was the Hawks, for Danny Manning, and then he left for Phoenix.

Gave Koncak that huge contract.

Made a trade involving Steve Smith to get Isaiah Rider.

disbelief

Never should've bothered with Laettner either.

Through the 80s and 90s we did some decent looking teams featuring some very good players in Blaylock, Willis, Wilkins, Smith, Mutombo and even Augmon wasn't half bad - but what's so typical of Atlanta is the season we were .695 in the regular season and went out in the first or second round of the playoffs.

Fucking useless.

Hawks history goes even farther back then that. They traded away their draft pick Bill Russell in 1956. I think they also had something to do with the Lakers drafting Magic Johnson.

Damn, I feel for Tracy McGrady. Dude needs some help out there, Yao didn't show up tonite. He had 29 but were some of the most uneffective points I have ever seen. He didn't make an impact why Tracy played his heart out. 29 points, 13 assist, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks (more the 7'6 Yao Ming)

Time to revisit my Round 1 predictions:

(1) Detroit (53-29) vs. (8) Orlando (40-42)

The Magic are simply overmatched by the Pistons are nearly every position. Plus, the Pistons have way too much experience. Detroit in 5.

Detroit ended up winning in 4, so this wasn't bad.

(4) Miami (44-38) vs. (5) Chicago (49-33)

This is a bit of an upset pick, as Miami has been hurt. I like the way the team rallied after Wade went down with an injury. I don't see Chicago having enough experience to contend with the Heat, and O'Neal is bound to perk up yet again. That said, I'm rooting for Chicago. Miami in 6.

I feel apart on this prediction. The Bulls completely wiped the floor with the Heat, and I'm happy to be wrong.

(3) Toronto (47-35) vs. (6) New Jersey (41-41)

The Nets have way too much firepower for the Raptors and they are much more playoff savvy. The Nets are one of those teams that seems content to flick on the switch when the playoffs begin while cruising through the regular season. Toronto has had a great season, but there doesn't seem to be enough veteran leadership to take out the Nets. New Jersey in 6.

I nailed this one!

(2) Cleveland (50-32) vs. (7) Washington (41-41)

The Cavs got a nice break by landing in the 2 seed and seeing the depleted Wizards fall to a 7. Without their big guns, Washington doesn't stand a chance. Cleveland in 5.

Cavs ended up sweeping, but this wasn't too bad.

(1) Dallas (67-15) vs. (8) Golden State (42-40)

The battle of mentor vs. protege will go to the protege. The Warriors finally have a reason to celebrate this season, but the playoffs are an entirely different beast. Dallas in 4.

I couldn't have been more wrong. Golden State showed that their regular season success against Dallas was no fluke. Again, I'm happy to be so wrong!

(4) Utah (51-31) vs. (5) Houston (52-30)

Both of these teams are moving in the right direction and are hoping to relive their past glory of the mid-late 90s. Both would be contenders in the East but face a tough, tough road out West. Houston has a knack for choking, and the Jazz are growing up fast. Utah in 6.

The Jazz pulled off a road win in Game 7 to win the series. It was a bit closer than I thought, and it was great to have such a competitive first round series.

(3) San Antonio (58-24) vs. (6) Denver (45-37)

The aging Spurs face the newly revamped Nuggets in what figures to be the most intriguing first round matchup. The Nuggets have been on fire lately, as were the Spurs before the Suns clinched the 2 seed. San Antonio in 7.

I thought the Nuggets would be a tougher matchup this time. San Antonio cruised in 5 after a Game 1 hiccup.

(2) Phoenix (61-21) vs. (7) L.A. Lakers (42-40)

A rematch of a surprisingly close series a year ago, Phoenix has more firepower this year and the Lakers seem even more lost than last year trying to figure out which version of Kobe will show up. Phoenix in 5.

I nailed this one as well. Hopefully the Lakers don't even make the playoffs next year!

Don't feel sorry of Jim Dolan. All NBA team owmers make money regardless if the team is playoff-bound or not. The owner of the Los Angeles Clippers is a perfect example of this reality.

Actually, the Atlanta Hawks did Pistol Pete a favor by trading him to the New Orleans Jazz (Utah Jazz). Granted, the Jazz never made the playoffs with Pete neither. But Pete's career stats were way better in New Orleans because the Jazz' coaching staff didn't try to make Pete change his game like what the Hawks try to do.

Even though Jazz/Warriors won't get a lot of press(compared to Suns/Spurs), it's a very interesting series because of the different styles. I can't pick this one - too close to call.
