Now that I have heard all of the tape and had time to think about it, So What? I have a feeling that if most people have freak out moments. Sure he didn't even know how old the girl is, sure he was over the line, but I do not see anything so over the top as to be abusive. And none of us know what the girl has been doing or anywhere near the entire story. I know some 11 and 12 olds that can be total asses.

And ask yourself, is there any moments in your life were you freaked out a bit and took something too far? How would you feel if it was released? (It was not leaked as Kim OWNS she can do whatever she likes with it)

He's an ass for talking to his kid like that and I'm glad he was outed as one. The kid at least has the satisfaction of knowing that the whole world thinks he's a dick. It may just soften the blow of having a fucking melon head as a father. Atleast she has validation that it's not her fault, and at least there are so many people who can let her know she is valued.

and BTW I teach 11 years olds...they are just like anyone else some are fuckheads some are nice.

My understanding is that this tape was used as evidence in their custody trial, and because of it she was granted a temporary restraining order. This happened BEFORE it was leaked to the media. It could have very easily been leaked by someone in the court system. Things get leaked all the time, that's nothing new.

Even if Kim is being a total bitch to Alec, he should NOT be taking that out on his kid.

If your partner talked to you in that way would you think it was acceptable because they were 'frustrated'? I sure as hell wouldn't...so why should a child have to accept being treated like garbage just because it's their parent that is treating them that way? Even if she is a 'brat' it's not not hard to see why that is, look at the way her father talks to her. He's supposed to be the adult here. She's the child.

If the guy is being alienated from his daughter, calling her the things he did is certainly not going to make her want to be near him at all....it just makes it worse. He may be her father, he may have the right to see her, but that doesn't mean that she has to like him, you can't force that on someone...and if my father talked to me this way I certainly wouldn't want anything to do with him.

I tend to agree with Alec Baldwin's statement about the tape. Keep thinking you can know a person based on a moment in their lives--I feel like alot of people want Alec Baldwin to be a dick and this validates their belief. There's a whole lot more to this.

The sickest thing about this situation is that in his released statement he basically implies that Kim is doing all this public shit to embarrass him and manipulate his kid when things should be kept private for the best interest of their child then he goes on to mention a tell all book he is writing where he will talk about how he is being alienated from his kid.

Well, in that case, neither parents really give a shit about the best interest of their child. I don't know what things Kim has done, I can only go by this tape and what was said. The whole thing is all about him, him, him. Even in his statement, he apologizes to everyone but his kid.

I wonder if this whole situation is just really all about control, about what 'my parental rights are' and less about a loving parents wanting to be there for their kid.

Whatever the case may be, I sure feel really sorry for that kid.

LOS ANGELES - As Alec Baldwin's angry words to his daughter were being broadcast around the world, the 49-year-old actor explained himself Friday on his Web site.

"Although I have been told by numerous people not to worry too much, as all parents lose their patience with their kids, I am most saddened that this was released to the media because of what it does to a child," he wrote. "I'm sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with my child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many years now. You have to go through this to understand. (Although I hope you never do.) I am sorry for what happened. But I am equally sorry that a court order was violated, which had deliberately been put under seal in this case."

A voicemail Baldwin left for his 11-year-old daughter, in which he can be heard calling her "a rude, thoughtless little pig," was published Thursday by celebrity news site TMZ.com.

Baldwin and his ex-wife, Kim Basinger, have been engaged in bitter custody disputes over their daughter, Ireland, since the couple divorced in 2002.

"In such public cases, your opponents attempt to take a picture of you on your worst day and insist that this is who you are as a person," Baldwin wrote. "Outside the doors of divorce court, I have friends, I have respect from people I work with and I have a normal relationship with my daughter. All of that is threatened whenever one enters a court room."

Meanwhile, Baldwin's attorney, Vicki Greene, said she filed a Superior Court order Friday "to determine how the tape got leaked and to determine whether actions should be taken against Kim Basinger, or her attorneys, or Harvey Levin (who runs TMZ.com) and anybody else associated with the leaking of the tape and the violation of the court orders to keep the proceedings closed."

In a letter Greene sent to Levin Thursday included in the court order, the attorney said she called Levin at 12:30 p.m. that day after learning he intended to go public with the tape.

"I cautioned you against taking any action, especially when what you disclosed to me could only have been obtained from an improper source, was sealed by the Court and should not be in your possession, let alone disclosed to the public," she said in the letter.

Levin told The Associated Press on Friday that he obtained the tape legally.

"I'm not going to talk about sources. I'm not going to say who we obtained it from," he said. "We obtained this legally. We discussed it, and felt it was an important story, and published it. If she disagrees, that's her opinion."

Greene told TV's "The Insider" that "anyone involved in this case should want to protect Ireland, so whatever happened was either intentional, reckless or negligent."

The matter is set for a hearing June 5, Greene said.

Basinger's attorney, Neal Hersh, weighed in on the family saga Friday on TMZ.com.

"I am concerned that Mr. Baldwin's recent statement, wherein he attempts to shift responsibility to Kim and her lawyers for his issues with Ireland, shows just how out of touch he is with the reality and gravity of the situation," Hersh said.

Basinger's spokeswoman had no comment Friday.

My concern is for his daughter's self esteem. She's 11. She's at a very fragile stage in her development into womanhood and her 'father' out of anger, frustration, or what the fuck ever informing her that "she is a thoughtless little pig" can prove to be detrimental! In my opinion, he's a thoughtless fucking pig and I mean just that!

Alec Baldwin is an old,angry,washed-up LOSER and a horrible parent! They should never leave him alone with his daughter,he probably beats her.I'm glad this recording came out,so everyone can hear what kind of ruthless person he is.What a total asshole! FUCK HIM!
