And who knows what kind of stuff the child is hearing from her mother who has custody, I doubt it's any thing positive much less the he's still your dad and you should spend time with him and talk to him when he calls. I don't think she's any different than the average 11 year old who would test the limits of their parents. Which could be what’s happen in this situation for all we know she could be or have been taking advantage of the situation because the divorce is so public and ugly. Some kids do - do that and some have to be reminded from time to time that they’re children and they’re not grown yet. The bottom line is we don’t know the whole story and probably never will know the true story.

Baldwin and Basinger had originally resolved the issue of visitation rights in March 2004, agreeing to split the parenting of Ireland. But a reported dispute over Ireland's planned summer visit with Baldwin brings the actors back into court, as Basinger wants to prevent her daughter's visit before it begins on August 1, according to his court papers.


Most recently, the question was raised as to whether depositions in the child custody fight between Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger should be videotaped. And in June, Baldwin requested a psychological evaluation as part of his request to change the conditions of the child custody order, and the judge declared that an evaluator also needs to spend time with Basinger and Ireland as part of the process.


In a December, Basinger attended a hearing at the Los Angeles Superior Court, where a number of new motions regarding the custody of their young daughter were scheduled to be introduced to the court. Baldwin, who lives in New York, did not attend, which he was not required to do.


Another hearing occurred on October 31. In court papers, Alec, through his attorney, accused Kim of having "untreated emotional problems." His attorney told the judge that Alec wants to see his daughter, but not until Kim has "alienation therapy," which is therapy designed to help prevent one parent from alienating the child from the other parent. He also accused her of ignoring court orders and child snatching. In a separate filing, Kim claims she feared for daughter Ireland's safety when with Alec. She also states that Alec calls her home incessantly and is abusive to those in her household.


A spokesperson for Basinger released the following statement to "The Insider": "Kim categorically denies all of Alec's allegations. Everyone knows about Alec Baldwin's behavioral problems -- his anger -- his rages -- they are, unfortunately, legendary. If his relationship with his daughter is fractured, there is only one person to blame and it is himself. Kim Basinger's priority remains her daughter's well being."


Baldwin and Basinger, who were married in 1993, separated on Dec. 5, 2000, and their divorce was finalized on Sept. 3, 2002.

I don't know them personally, but all I can say is today I brought up the audio at work and a new coworker said "well, didn't he used to beat her?" I didn't even mention it their past. It's just popular National Enquirer fodder. But this release of the audio is an attempt to show proof of his character.
