How Vain R u?

I wouldn't say i'm too vain, but I always check myself out in shop windows etc.

And I nearly took a day off work a couple of months ago coz I had a zit. It was massive though.

U?

Horribly vain.

If I had a realistic sense of body image I probably wouldn't leave the house. Ever. As it is, I sort of trick myself into thinking I look great. lol

Believe it or not, I've gotten better over the years. I used to not be able to be in public if I hadn't washed my hair and looked 'just so'. Now I have lazy days now and again where I'll actually go to a friend's house without make-up on or something. But it's few and far between still.

i'm pretty vain unless i'm super hungover or especially sleep-deprived, in which case i get off on looking as U-G-L-Y as humanly possible. nod

And there is nothing wrong with that.

Vain gets a bad wrap.

I'm not sure how to answer this - the quick way or with what's going through my head. But that drivel will take up at least 3 pages and I won't subject anyone to that. confused lol So I'll give you the quick one:

Horribly vain, horribly insecure.

Sometimes i amaze myself with the level of my own humility, trust me, when you look as good as i do it is incredibly hard to be this humble, it takes work.

So i would say that vanity is not in me....however i am realistic about the hotness, its undeniable.

wink

I don't understand why people are ashamed of vain.

Its like being ashamed of your sexuality.

Your born with it.

Its like, being double jointed or whatever.

Because some would say there are more important things to spend your time on. Once upon a time we used to value things like character and honor and charity. Not to say looks were not important, but they were much farther down on the list.
Kind of how self-confidence is sexy, but arrogance is not. Too much of a good thing.

Carrie. lol

Are you saying that, vain is good if charity comes first?

I'm trying to understand.....vanity is caring about your appearance?

Well, I think were born that way, rite?

Or no?

Vanity is generally considered being obsessed with your appearance, being excessively proud, not simply caring a bit.

It's not necessarily conceited either... but close.

And I'd agree I don't think you're vain at all.

Imago

I'm relatively vain, but not always.

I hate pictures taken of me unless I'm dolled up to some extent.
But I'll actually wake up with a hangover, bedhead hair, and bloodshot eyes, and go grab a bite in nappy clothes with no care in the world what others think.

So, I'm so-so vain when it comes to myself.

However, with friends, I couldn't possibly care less what they look like. They can be hobos and that wouldn't bother me. shrug

lol I don't know if I'm that vain, but I have my moments. I look in the mirror when I pass one about 90% of the time. But, really, who doesn't do that?

I wouldn't say that I was vain as far as physical appearance goes. I'm an average woman, and as the years pass, I have become quite comfortable with my looks.

I'm more of an intellectual snob. I usually walk around thinking that I'm more intelligent than everyone else.
