Oooh, I need to get back into it, I miss it. I just found out that my school has FREE yoga classes for students! I had no idea. cloud9

Anyway, yes, it's brutal in the beginning, but you start to see and feel changes faster than with most sorts of exercise. It's great.

This is exactly what I wanted to hear.

Awesome.

Yoga's great, but you should be careful not to push too hard. When the teacher is twisting her whole body in a certain direction, you can just approximate it by 10% or so.

oh I guess cubic61052 already said the same thing, but it's true. You shouldn't really ever be uncomfortable.

Very cool! I was considering going there for their culinary arts program. I've always loved cooking and I want to open my own restaurant/jazz club one day.

I should definitely check it out, especially if I can get some yoga out of the deal. wink

The best thing about it is that it doesn't neglect any area like other exercises tend to. Like when I run my legs get tight & inflexible, or my upper body gets nothing. When I lift weights I muight only do chest & shoulders.

In yoga everything's symmetrical, and you work your toes to your scalp, and you stretch at the same time you get stronger.

It's not only about the outside either. You work muscles, but you're taught to think of your organs, as well.

I also love that resting is part of the workout!

Good luck Erin! Let us know how you like it, after you heal from the pain anyway. I've done some pilates, but I don't know how it compares to yoga.

I will. smile

My plan is to do yoga 3x a week and pilates (which I am used to) 2x a week.
