GOOD SKIN: recommend a good...

FACE MASK smile

I used to get mine from the True Blue Spa collection @ Bath & Body Works - I liked "It's All In A Clay's Work" Detoxifying Facial but they don't sell it anymore. As old as this shit is maybe I shouldn't be using it eek lol but this last jar still does well by my face batting eyes

So I gotta find a new one - any suggestions? I want something I only have to use once a week - detoxifying is good, doesn't have to be for acne or moisturizing or anything like that, just getting deep & clean.

What's your favorite facial mask & WHY? hmmm

Thanks!
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

skin masks make me breakout.

right now, everything is making me breakout. I was trying to use Oil of Olay's Total Effects to get a jump start on the anti-aging thing and it made me breakout like I was a teenager again. confused

So I guess in some twisted way it worked.

I have a friend who swears by Queen Helene's clay mask. Clinique may have one, I think...Burt's Bees makes a clay mask, too. Someone got me a Burt's Bees sampler for X-mas and the mask was a part of it. They tend to use pretty good ingredients and may be as close to Bath and Bodyworks' mask as you'll be able to get.

Good luck.

I use the Mary Kay 'Time Wise' collection,(cleanser, moisturizer, night solution) they may be old school, but the Time Wise set is updated. The microdermabrasion set is awsome. I have been blessed with good skin so I only use the microderm once a week.

It does great by me.

I always wonder if those masks actually DO anything.

But I like hanging out in the tub and feeling like I'm spoiling myself, so I use 'em sometimes. lol

I've usually gotten them at the Body Shop.

And this one, which is cheap and feels nice:

I tried the Mary Kay microdermabrasion once and it HURTS!!
I don't think anything painful like that can be good for your skin.
Of course, my skin is quite sensitive too.

Mon went shopping at Boots today and spent far too much. This is just the 'free' extra stuff they gave her probably owing to their complete surprise that she dropped nearly an average Thai's month's wages in one go falloff mad

Vitamin E enriched bath cream
Vitamin B enriched shampoo
Vitamin B enriched conditioner
Multi-vitamin hand & nail cream
Garnier Pure A anti-imperfection wash x2
Botanics refining sauna mask
Botanics vitamin recovery mask
No7 Skin-care essentials pack (rebalancng day gel, rebalancing night fluid, beauty lotion, purifying cleanser, purifying toner - complete with gift bag) x3

falloff

I have to post a pic of this shit. And this is just the extra stuff they gave her.

I'm working on it!! lol

I picked up The Body Project: An Intimate History of American Girls. A historian goes through diaries and media images from 1830-present. An early interesting point is today we think of corsets and foot binding as totally anti-woman and yet look at what we do today. Also that in those times girls sense of self and identity had to do with being a good person, good works and not obsessing with self and those things were cultivated in young women and today nearly all sense of self and identity, improvement, etc. is about body and body image.

I think it helps me when I can intellectualize things. lol

Me too. lol

That sounds really cool, actually. . . I'll have to track that down.

Yeah, if you think about it, wearing heels and removing most of our body hair. . . wearing bras. . . keeping our hands and feet all soft. . .painting our faces. . .most of it is kind of ridiculous. And what choice do we REALLY have? Be social outcasts? shrug

for a time i used aztec clay, this was years ago, so i can't really recommend it.

now i just use honey mixed with cinnamon, i leave it on for about an hour, though the source that recommended it suggested sleeping with it on overnight. wacky

um, that would be pretty messy, but i does a great job at clearing up the skin.

It's supposed to draw out impurities in your skin - oil, bacteria, etc. I do find that using one once a week helps my complexion stay clear. But I forget a lot of times, hence this old ass scrub I still have left lol
