Looking at what happened... it would have been useless....

The night the NPGMC sank into the purple ocean (with the orchestra playing Purple Rain 'til the ship went down), the owner of The Underground invited everyone over to her site. She simply wanted to give people who had become friends at the NPGMC a place to hang their hats so they wouldn't lose touch with one another. As you recall, the demise of the NPGMC was pretty abrupt -- a lot of folks didn't get a chance to gather phone numbers and email addresses. She just said, "Y'all come -- and tell anyone else you know where we're at."

It was only a chat at that time, but she moved heaven and earth to get a forum up and running within that first week. Meanwhile, over at the org and HQ, folks were starting threads all over the place, saying, "Geez...I sure hope those yahoos from the NPGMC don't come over here."

So basically, the folks at The Underground are damned if they do and damned if they don't. You didn't want them here, yet you resent them keeping to themselves.

Awhile back, there was some drama in the chatroom that resulted in the management taking it private. If you weren't one of the people causing trouble, all you have to do is re-apply for chat membership. (I'm pretty sure there were only a few outright bannings.)

Um. Wow.

This thread is a lot of different things.

But mainly it's WEIRD.

And it has brought out a LOT of weird, not weird, but NEW user names.

i met a bunch of purple underground people here in chicago recently. it was like that episode of seinfeld when elaine met bizarro jerry, bizarro george and bizarro kramer. it was just like an org invasion, only i didn't recognize anyone! that said, they were all nice. i'm glad they're encountering forum/chat drama, though. it's a sign of a successful site. congrats!

Lilith... If you're who I think you are, you weren't banned... 312 WAS!! After the banning of 312 and others, the chat registration requirements were changed. If you haven't been to the site since then and did not read the bulletin in Forums, then you may not be aware that chatters are required to re-register to get into chat. This was done to prevent the trouble makers who were attacking other members and causing frequent conflict from getting back in.

I think you should have contacted the Mods to confirm your status and they'd either have sent you a new password or said goodbye. You're not the first person to think they were banned... You're just the first person to carry on so badly without confirming it first..

If you're having a problem online with people, you're supposed to be enough of an adult to handle it amongst yourselves; either publicly or in PM.
Mods & Admins are not babysitters.. but if it's really getting out of hand, you should have PM'd someone about it. Mods and Admins all have "real" jobs too; they can't catch every single thread, every little "fight." I'm sure mods here, and at HQ, GlamSlam, PrinceFams, etc. all have experienced this as well.

You should have sent a PM to one of the Administrators if you were having trouble with a Moderator. Or an email to NPGU if you were having trouble logging in. Read the NPGU Announcements forum for rules, guidelines, and instructions.

If you can't get into forums -- and don't actually see a message specifically stating that you have been banned.. you're not banned.
Some users, including myself, have had trouble logging in due to upgrades the Forums' hosting company made to their servers; it conflicts with some web browsers. Clear out all of your cookies and you should be fine.

I don't know who Genesia is, but they are correct about the new Chat process. All one has to do is request a new account (as is clearly indicated at chat log in page and within the forums) and one of the Admins will grant access if you aren't on the ban list.

Can we stop with the lies??
- Most troublemakers and internet trolls are guys (no offense, fellas ).. No female members have been banned in *quite* some time. There is no NPGU member named Lilith, so who knows who this person is @ NPGU
- No one has EVER been banned because a friend of a Mod didn't like them.
- There are no new moderators
- Most of the mods and admins happen to be straight -- not that that should matter to anyone.. unless they're a sad little homophobe. None are "angry"
well, maybe once a month if dealing with multiple trolls..


As for cliques... Has anyone looked it up in the dictionary lately? Like each site doesn't have one.. or two... or eight. GMAB already..

NPGU welcomes all.. you don't even have to like Prince. Only pre-requisite is that you adhere to the Guidelines posted in the Announcements forum. Yeah.. if somebody posts something.. bizarre, they may get teased or questioned about it.. but how can one be online, anywhere, and not have a thick[er] skin by now? Especially on all of these Prince sites.


What is it with people that they prefer to listen to and believe gossip and lies, rather than trying to find out something for themselves -?

Someone else posted something about threads made here and at HQ when NPGMC went on hiatus in the wee hours of July 4th.. how [regular/frequent] members didn't want all the displaced NPGMCers coming to 'their' sites (even though most of us already were long-time members of org & HQ; we just did the majority of our posting @ NPGMC)... and nearly a year later, peole still want to rag on us for making one?? Wow..... maturity, class and logic are just oozing out of some of these posts.
