Marc Jacobs' celebrity handbags Who's buying one?
Marc Jacobs' 'Debbie' and 'Siouxsie' bags
I'm sure every gal has had the conversation which revolves around 'who'd you be if you were famous?', in which you prattle off the names of several famous starlets you have a burning desire to replace. My top two would be Siouxsie Sioux and Debbie Harry, of the Banshees and Blondie fame respectively. The fact that my favourite designer, Marc Jacobs, has created two punk-inspired bags named after two of my idols has got me checking my bank balance to see whether I can afford either of them. Sadly 'Debbie', at $1,800, and 'Siouxsie', at $2,350 won't be carting my punk-filled iPod around anytime soon. http://www.thebaglady.tv/...s_deb.html

Marc Jacobs Metallic Mariah bag
We were excited about Marc Jacobs' Spring 2007 bags way back in November and the shine hasn't gone off them in the intervening period. The 'Mariah' bag - patchwork metallic leather with hammered metal chain handles and closure - is available from Barneys New York for $1,575. We've featured some ghastly patchwork and some monstrous metallics, but the Mariah's a pretty nice combination of the two, don't you think? http://www.thebaglady.tv/...s_met.html

Love the ladies, hate the bags.
I can't see Siouxsie or Debbie carrying either of those. They're God-awful!

IMHO - people have to be out of their fucking minds to pay this kind of money for a silly handbag.
I would pay $200-$300, but I would never fork over thousands for a stupid purse.

Indeed, it's not very punk to have expensive handbags like those. The Mariah-bling one is totally on target though.

Deborah Harry is almost as old as my mom and I'm old so that makes Deborah like, really old. Siouxsie is only 12 years older than me. We are the same Chinese zodiac sign.

i want an Anx handbag I don't see anything wrong in naming something Debbie or Mariah. Siouxsie may have her name trademarked though.

The Mariah bag is totally on target. It looks very "mariah" I bet if someone tries to steal it, it'll start to screech just like the real Mariah.

Didn't Marc Jacob just recently check into rehab....I swear I read it somewhere...sad how hollywood can go in a downward spiral at the blink of an eye...he is such a great designer.
