trust me about 3 years ago i thought about it and a good friend told me that " there are going to be days when you feel that people dont love or appreciate you , but think about the people who actually do and it would hurt them to see you go" hence why im still here.

it's crossed my mind quite a bit lately, how easy it would be but no one around me knows that though.

mine had nothing to do with the internet, it was a case not realizing people who loved and appreciated me for me being me. i was so lost in my self that i didnt see those who actually cared.

well thats different and i'm sorry you felt that way and i'm glad you came around to see that people do love you for who you are before it was too late hug. in this guy's case it just seems to me that this subject is so introverted-so personal that to expose it publicly is in a sense some creepy/weird form of need for attention on a whole nutha level imo. i feel bad for him and i feel bad for his family-especially his kids sad

my heart goes out to his family and friends, as well as to the people who witnessed this. pray rose

i know first hand how suicide can affect a family, and i truly wish that we can lessen the stigma of mental health issues to help people before they resort to these drastic measures. sad

in some cases people commit suicice for the need to be free from here, i can see that, sometimes people's 3rd eye become fuzzy and dont realize that suicide is selfish and that "freedom" is not up to you

When I start to feel like that I think of something my friend gave me years ago:

Whoever you are, there is someone younger who thinks you are perfect.
There is some work that will never be done if you don't do it.
There is someone who would miss you if you were gone.
There is a good reason for becoming better than you are...
There is a place that only you alone can fill.
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

That's fucked up rose What's even more fucked is that people were encouraging him to do it. I use Pal Talk too eek I'm glad I wasn't on that day. I saw the room they were talking about, but I never used it. I think they should shut it down for good. I'm sure some people viewing that cam are probably scarred now. I'm curious to know why he'd subject himself to insults in an insult chat room if he was severely depressed. That would be the last place I'd go. If only he had thought about his kids. This isn't the first time a live webcam suicide has happened though. A few years ago, a 21 yr. old boy in Arizona OD'd on a cocktail of prescription drugs while people watched online. They even posted the boy's final chat transcript.....sad to see a lot his online friends pushing him to do it. I think his case was just peer pressure....trying to prove to his friends that he was a heavyweight when it came to drugs. I'm sure webcam chat rooms in general are gonna be under close watch now.

What an awful story. I understand people's need to "deliver" themselves. I've been dangerously close to that point before, and it's a stark, lonely place to be. But I don't understand the audacity to do it in front of an audience.

A friend of mine had a brother hang himself about 2 years ago. He posted all sorts of preliminary plans on a message board and his final posting was an ominous goodbye. He had people all over the world -- adults, children, whomever -- who felt so terrible and powerless... perhaps as he felt. People do drastic things when they're in the throws of pain, futility, etc. But what gives some of them this sense that they have a right to perhaps forever effect perfect strangers in such a way? I don't understand.
