You know, I have heard that time and time again, but I've sort of fooled myself into thinking it's all an unfortunate series of misperceptions. He could read the phonebook and I'd be guffawing all over the damn place. I think he is so incredibly funny, witty, intelligent, and talented. I've seen him be quite self-effacing as well. I just refuse to believe he's a jerk. I was playing golf in Mount Juliet golf course in Ireland about 10 years ago with about 20 guys from work on a day out there.Bill Murray was in Kilkenny for the "Cat Laughs" annual comedy festival.He was sitting at the bar having a bite to eat and a pint of Guinness when we cam in from the course.One of the guys working with us was also called Bill Murray.Anyway,we were having our prize giving in the bar and we asked the "real" Bill Murray if he would present our Bill with a cup,which he duly obliged.He stayed in our company for about 2 hours,just chilling out and telling some funny stories(He was pretending his name was Ulick McGee).He stood around for pictures and was extremely nice and sociable.I always thought he was a pretty average height guy but he must be around 6'2.But he was really cool either way. | |
