Yes, the Welsh accent is very 'sing songy'. And it can be fast and muddled. I don't know many how many times I was told to "Slow down!" when I first started in my job.

Plus, growing up, other people used to accuse me of trying to talk 'posh'. Hardly. I wouldn't class it as 'received pronounciation', would you?? It was just that my mother always made a point of pointing out certain things or correcting mistakes. It just becomes natural after a while.

Then, of course, there's the 'gay' thing. It doesn't bother me now but - growing up - I was almost terrfified someone would ask me something sometimes. Or that I'd have to speak aloud in public. Because the inflection in my voice would always 'give the game away' or I was used to being ridiculed because of something I'd say. So it was always a big thing for me - I absolutely hated the sound of my own voice with a passion.

Anyway... thanks for the compliment. I know how to make a mountain out of a molehill, eh?? But that's just to let you know how much I appreciate both your's and Carrie's comments. It does mean a lot.

I have Family down the road from You in Tenby near Pembroke.
I think it is a wounderful area and have been visiting ever since i was a youngster (at least once a year) and i think that the Welsh accent has a really nice sound to it. I know us "English" take the piss but in this instant i'm being truthful.

I even said to my wife that when we retire i would be very happy to settle in that neck of the woods.

So don't be downbeat about the Welsh accent, its gotta be better than the Norfolk one where I currently live.

Tenby is a BEAUTIFUL place - stunning. You're lucky you get to visit it so regularly. I don't know if you've explored much of the Gower peninsular but it's a gorgeous piece of coastline - somewhere I'd definitely like to retire to as well. I'm glad you like West Wales so much.

As for the George tickets - wow, cheers!! That's really kind of you. I'm not sure, to be honest, as I saw him last year in Birmingham so didn't try this time; but I am seriously tempted... I'll get back to you via Orgnote. You're going to love it.

I like yourself saw him last december at Wembly Arena. Took the wife coz she's a big fan. I was doubtful at first but came out after having really enjoyed it.
