I like to think I am constantly evolving. My life is a staircase, constantly going up. Sure there are much needed landings along the way. I like to think that every decision I make is towards bringing myself up one step. Be it in work life, socail life, general living, money, and even music. SUre there are many areas for improvement...always, but as long as some of the areas in my life are going in the upward direction, then I am ok and don't feel as though I am stuck.
I think what's difficult is that while I view my life that way, my partner does not. This leads to many tense situations. He sees his life as a circle and feels stuck a lot. I have tried to suggest to him that it is his perspective that needs changing. Life is not a constant loop, it is forward moving. Christian Zombie Vampires

Beautiful thread Karen. I'm making huge changes involving taking better care of myself. Over the last five weeks, I've lost six pounds and my cholesterol has been lowered from 209 to 187. I gave up Pepsi. I haven't had one in almost 70 days. I find it's time to re-evaluate relationships as well and time to let go.

I hear you about the letting go- it is a long slow process but some times a necessity. Much and to you!!

Recently I made a vow to myself to be on time/early to every appointment, occasion I must attend. I was always dragging in 15 minutes or more late to work. I even started a journal about it. WOW! How it feels to be relaxed, being rid of that sense of flusteredness, improving relationships. Now this has not been a flawless ambition. But in general the improvement is huge! Somehow I have much more time and energy, I even wake up on time now.

I recently got a very short hair cut. It has changed my life in many positive ways. I'm saving on shampoo and other hair products, and no longer have to worry about mishaping my hair when I let the top down in my car.

It all came out of this great workshop I took a couple of weeks ago. One of the key points about the workshop was keeping agreements and how that can remove all sorts of suffering in your life and and help develop self-trust so you can really move forward. So it hit me that that's one thing I need to change, especially to improve my relationship with my boss (which isn't bad, but just think what could happen if I was early! Maybe a raise!

In contrast, I've recently grown my hair out longer than it's been in almost 18 years. It now reaches my collar bone. I plan to grow it about 4 more inches. I can do fun things like pull it back in pig tails. And I'm considering looking at some nice barrettes and other hair accessories next time I go shopping. Yeah, that's about all that's changed with that. |

This winter has been hard for me. I've been sad and stressed a lot.
Due to various things, but a significant part that has been troubling me is that my financial irresponsibility over the past couple of years is coming back to bite me in the ass. I don't really know what I'm going to do about it. "More month than money" is a GREAT way to put it. Like Anx, I'm having a bit of a last hurrah. . . an on-the-cheap last hurrah, but. . . going to NYC over spring break, and I think it will be a nice little shake-up, get me out of my kinda glum routine a bit. Then, I come back and settle into a challenging quarter at school, a new weight training routine that I've been enjoying but would enjoy more if my energy weren't so low, and utter financial discipline. I'm also going to continue something that I've been working really hard at over the past several months, which is getting rid of clutter and being a better housekeeper, so that my home is a nice place ot be. I'm going to be a better me. Happy spring! oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!
