Can you believe I almost fucked up a simple chicken dish??? lol I should have made the wine/broth ratio more in favor of the broth (too much wine!). But I was able to save it, it's actually pretty good.

And I made curry eggplant, so I cooked TWICE this weekend - that's a record for me biggrin

The act of turning on a burner and putting something on a stove. Wow. I haven't done that in a WHILE.

I move around too much. Actually, I take that back. I made some scrambled eggs sometime late last year.

But I barely cook, though. Sandwiches and tea don't count for me.

I love eating out, and would do it more often, if it wasn't so expensive. I like not having to prepare, cook, and clean up the meal afterwards. I would cook more for myself, but it's kinda hard to cook for only one person. Sure I can cook something and maybe cut the recipe in half, but even when I do that, I still have tons of it left over. After eating the same thing for several days, I find that I tend to get tired of it. What about you?

I love cooking, whether for myself or for another person as well.

Loud music in the kitchen, and plenty of booze, enhances the experience cool

I tried to mimic a dish from a restaurant that's basically baked eggplant w/ plum sauce - it's really good in the restaurant but mine was nasty as fuck lol I think I'm missing an ingredient, maybe miso shrug

Becoming a good cook requires time and patience though...you can't expect yourself to make fabulous dishes right off the bat. biggrin It took me years to know what the heck I was doing and what stuff like "minced" or "sauteed" meant. My boyfriend actually thinks I'm a great cook now...that was NOT how it was like when we first started to cook..I ruined practically EVERY dish I created. Now my boyfriend thinks I'm one of the best...and it REALLY is hard to please him because his mom is such an excellent cook. Although I'm STILL trying to get him into my more exotic and vegitarian dishes.

Most of the time when I bother to make something (not often! giggle ) it turns out pretty good, but I tend to stick w/ stuff I'm pretty comfortable with. I want to get more into veggie dishes, I would want to break out a cookbook lol

Cooking at home for me. It's relaxing, enjoyable and nothing beats presenting a huge feast for a group of hungry 18-23 year olds. I cooked a prime rib roast with gratin potatoes and corn on the cob last night, since one son is home for Spring break. It's completely gone.
Friends always drop by. They know they'll be well fed in our household.

Cooking at home first with my family ..sharing love and laughter and infusing that into good food

we also enjoy a nice meal out

more then that we enjoy dinner with friends at their homes

and camp cooking for everyone over a camfire ...

I love cooking, so if I eat out it's always somewhere REALLY nice and generally bloody expensive. That's not as flash as it sounds; I don't drink, and it's the wine that tends to bump the bill up at these places, so it usually turns out pretty reasonable.

Any excuse to talk about food. Plus, orgers don't generally get into disagreements with this topic which makes it nice.
