My neighbor (and best friend) got a horse when she was young. I got to ride it. The horse got stung by a bee or something and took off running and I almost fell off of it. It was very, very scary.
I didn't care much for horses after that. |

I didn't care much for horses after that. my friends had a pony each my parents got me to agree to come to Australia by telling me there were 1000s of horses here. In a way I feel lucky, since I discovered boys earlier this way and pined away for Murray, Ben and Troy for years instead

I had one and the first time I had to feed it it bit me so hard I had to be rushed to the hospital.
I never dared to get close to it ever again. Instead the donkey fell in love with me. And I was crazy for the chickens and the peacock. And the rabbits.

Too poor for a pony....AND I grew up in a city neighborhood, so there was no room for one even if I was able to get it..... He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.

I never wanted a pony, which is funny since I fancied myself a cowboy. I don't think I really wanted any pets in particular, but I always loved the animals that were around.
My girlfriend actually got a horse as a kid, and she shared that fact with the class at school, to which her teacher responded by telling her not to lie! [Edited 3/17/07 21:13pm] My Legacy

I desperately wanted a horse. I was nuts about them.
OMG, this story is SO SAD and I'm gonna tell it. One time, when I was probably in 4th grade or so, I decided to see how fast I could run around this little grove of trees in our back yard. I had gotten a stopwatch for a present at some point and asked my dad to time me. He saw an opportunity. I was a little fat kid and he figured I needed exercise, so he told me that if I could run around the grove in a certain amount of time, I could get a horse. He picked a time that he thought I couldn't possibly acheive, of course, since he had no intention of ever getting me a horse. He underestimated the will of his fat asthmatic horse-loving daughter. I fuckin' TRAINED. Took me a little while, but I finally made the time. He clocked it. So. I learned that my dad is a liar, and he learned not to underestimate me. big fat edit [Edited 3/17/07 21:39pm] oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

She always taught me it's unfair to promise anything you can't deliver on. ESPECIALLY to children. |

Sure I wanted a pony but seeing as how the money went to beer and pot in our household I wasn't holding my breath waiting for it. Didn't put much stock in Santa either cos he always smelled of beer just like dad.
