i'll watch horror movies but usually i just think they're dumb and not very scary. amityville horror scared me when i was a kid. the exorcist was well done, but it made me giggle. POLTERGEIST scared the crap out of me, and probably would again if i watched it. that may be the only one i really truly consider scary. the clown under the bed, man. ugh.

This genre results in the best and worst films, in my opinion. Here's my list:

Aliens
Halloween 1 and 2
Jaws 1 and 2
Rosemary's Baby
The Exorcist
The Omen
Nosferatu (1922)
The Evil Dead
May
Bram Stoker's Dracula
The Shining
The Wicker Man (1973)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Night of the Living Dead
The Blair Witch Project
Silence of the Lambs
The Omen
Freaks
The Fly
The Hills Have Eyes
Don't Look in the Basement

I also enjoy really bad horror movies if they are inadvertantly funny, such as:

The Wasp Woman
The Killer Shrews
Christmas Evil
Shark Zone

i was disappointed. looking at the poster and the title of the movie, i thought it was about a she-male with impotence, and matthew mcconnechay played her flaccid member. i wanted my money back. mad

I like 'horror' movies because usually they're absolutely hilarious instead of scary. Especially the ones from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and the past seven years. nod lol

If I am really even remotely freaked out by a movie, it's usually a psychological thriller, not what most people consider to be horror. Most things labeled "horror" make me laugh into my popcorn bowl. Although sometimes I am horrified at the fact that the movie scared someone enough for it to qualify. disbelief But I can't choose a favorite...don't remember any well enough. eek

And Salem's Lotwith that creepy kid scratching on the window and the guy in the cell squeezing through the vent. I'll watch it but not by myself and I'll have to sleep with the lights on for a few nights.

Blair Witch Projectthe last scene did it for me, again sleeping with the lights on.

The Amityville Horror
Phantasm I
Phantasm II
Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead
Phantasm IV: Oblivion
Fallen
