Changing Careers

Have any of you ever changed careers because you were absolutely sick of what you were currently doing? Was it difficult to do, and were you glad that you did it?

I'm currently thinking of changing careers, basically because I'm sick of administrative assistant work. After doing it for over 20 years, it has become very boring and uninteresting. yawn bored I need a change, and the only person who can do it is me.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I had a freind who was an ad executive for a major newspaper - she HATED it. Iasked her what she wanted to do - she said "I've always wanted to be a nurse." I said "Then be one."

Guess what? She's now a nurse - has her masters and even teaches nursing as well as becoming a good ER nurse. She's happy as a clam.

GOT FOR IT!

I am doing it right now, in fact i had a meeting today that puts me well on the way, i currently own an IT company and i am jacking it all in and taking 3 months off to finish my training as a dive instructor while i am young enough to enjoy it. I am so excited and yet a little scared at the same time. Still you only live once huh?

Wow, cool, I never knew you owned your own company. You'll do great at being a dive instructor. I've always wanted to try scuba/deep sea diving. It looks like a lot of fun.

I am preparing to change carrers myself. After 5 years in the Navy I am more than ready to call it quits. However high ups in the navy seem to have this idea that like after the military is
A) Flipping burgers
b) Going home to life with your parents

Those are just two examples of scare tactics, but they don't work on me.

Go for the gold, change carrers. You only live one...
