I just got back from a club about 10 minutes ago. It had two rooms, one had a D.J. and the other one had a live band. While I found myself often bouncing my head and shoulders to the D.J., whenever i went to the room with the live band, I always ended up shaking my money maker! Now I love dancing to a D.J. and all, but maybe its just cause I'm getting older, I tend to prefer getting my groove on to live music! What about ya'll?

Live all the way. I never dance at clubs anymore. Mostly because of the poo they play these days. Crappy, trancy techno shit. I'm sure there's an official name for stuff like that, but I just call it "shit".

Although I wouldn't say most the music I see live is actually danceable. More like jumping up and down or nodding and banging your head, if that counts.

Now I sound old.

Oh, but I did dance at the last Mpls. Invasion. It was all Prince though.

Definitely a dj set, but only if it's the kind of music I really like - which around here can be hard to find.

Both. There are times when I need heightened BPMs and a lighting experience and times when I want some on-the-spot improvisational synth/keyboard playing and the KICK of live drums.

I do both.

Depends on the band and the DJ!

I've seen plenty of crap bands that couldn't hold a candle to a powerful DJ and I've moaned through many a horrible DJ set as well.
