I was in love... once. It was two years before we had our first argument. If I had a million things to get done by the end of the night, I'd drop them all to spend the evening with her. If you find that, given the choice between doing something selfish and doing something for her, you choose the latter -- you're on your way. When you start choosing to do things for her (when the sole provocation is the joy those things will bring her), you're there. ok i'll be serious for a sec...recently my girlfriend was ill with a stomach virus...she needed to throw up so i grabbed a bucket...while she was vomiting i held her hair back from her face...as i looked at her i was overcome by a feeling of love...she looked pale and her eyes were red etc...but i just wanted to protect her and make everything allright...she just looked...beautiful... it's easy to think someone's great when they're at their best...but it's the really "human" moments that count imo...
