meryl is constructing an antenna to her home world with all the awards she's won over the years. she just needs another couple more oscars for the mothership to get her coordinates.

she gave a very classy shout out to the movies that are in limited release. She lent her star power to the cause.
I LOVE Meryl Streep, and I am glad she won We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color. Maya Angelou

Meryl is one of the few people in the industry worthy of the hype and the awards she gets. This performance was very deserving, so I'm glad she won. She makes the movie. [Edited 1/15/07 18:11pm]

Well look at the other nominees: Dreamgirls (2006) - Beyoncé Knowles Little Miss Sunshine (2006) - Toni Collette Miss Potter (2006) - Renée Zellweger Running with Scissors (2006) - Annette Bening Completely unworthy this year, quite honestly. The only actress to watch among this year's nominees is Emily Blunt, who is very very talented and was nominated for Supporting Actress for The Devil Wears Prada.

She's an amazing actress. Even DeNiro seems to be coasting a bit lately, but Meryl's always great.
I like to see great people recognized. I'm not so sure about Beyonce as an actress. But if Meryl beats her at the Grammys it'll be a bit much. My Legacy

I love Meryl Streep. She's hilarious without a script. I don't think she should've won for this movie though.

Personally, I like her speeches. Given all her acclaim, it's nice 2 see she doesn't take herself so seriously. **cough,Jamie Foxx, cough** Listen to me on The House of Pop Culture podcast on itunes http://itunes.apple.com/u...d438631917
