Bingo!

It's medical and it's also how well of a support network you have in place.

Do you really think so?

I've made 3 attempts in the last 11 years... the last one not that long ago and only one person knows about it

who knows...

hug wave by the way

fuckkk and as a child I could be so damned cruel to others in my class, and I got a guilty feeling that if I did what I did then, now then my victims of bullying would probably be dead or seriously fucked up..

its strange how the world changes.. sad

I know. I always tell my husband, the first time I hear of my kids making fun of someone (cuz they all do) I'm gonna beat his little ass.

We gotta be soo careful these days and keep our ears and eyes open all the time..

oh I'm absolutely sure I wouldn't be the only one here... I'm probably just the only one silly enough to say it out loud, so to speak.

The area I grew up in was, at one stage at least, the capital of youth suicide in Australia

wave Silly one here too!

I'm sure you are not the only one as well. I never took it to that extreme, only thoughts with me, but I doubt many would cop to that either.

Have you seen a doctor since your last try?

I hope so Natisse hug pray

and yeah I think it is medical and I think as far as you and your sibs having the same support as you and them being "fine" is niether here nor there....maybe what you need is different then what they need. Sibs or not, you are different people.

It's one thing when a 40yo person kills themselves. Yeah, it's still sad, but they pretty much knew what life had to offer. A 14yo didn't have time to know that there are always ups and downs.

I suspect that more kids/teens are depressed these days because they don't get enough exercise. Any therapist will tell you that getting plenty of activity tends to ward of depression. Kids who sit on their asses rather than going outside and running around are likely to have all kinds of problems, depression and anxiety among them.
oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

I was gonna say that yes.. kids dont get enough exercise.. or a healthy diet.. and without that then depression is more on the up..

I'm too chicken to try, but it's pretty sad if the person is a young teen...they don't know much about life yet.

wow...that's VERY VERY sad. sad
I wonder...was the boy on anti-depressants? it's so f'd up that some so called anti-depressants have a side effect of "thoughts of suicide" especially in children.
Good lord! I don't know what I'd do if that was my child. That seems to be the ONLY thing that would ever make me consider such a thing myself.

my childhood wasn't all fun and games....I was an angry little bitch, and had the potential to be very mean to those around me.....but NEVER down on myself....never considered suicide then or now. Truthfully it is something I do no understand and can only imagine that something really aweful had to have happened to you for that to be an option. sad

Some kids are harrassed daily at schools. They see no choice but to go to school and continue to face harrassment, or take drastic actions.

This is so sad. But it's true. Goa, I remember some of the kids that got tormented at school, to the point where even some teachers would laugh at them. The poor things. Jus tthink what this does to them. I'm so ashamed that I harrassed some people too. I think everyone does.

You don't realize till your older, how mean and wrong it was.

That's why I'm sayin'. My kids are gettin' there ass beat when I find out they're harrassing other kids.

I can't stand the thought, of my kids feeling like that, so I don't want them doing it to someone else.

nod Good for you.

Sadly a lot of adults have the attitude that this is all just a "part of growing up"... They don't realize that certain kids are targeted and live with the bullying constantly during their school lives whereas others experience little to none...
