Minnesotans are some of the nicest people I´ve ever met in my life. I really miss Minnesota and the mentality there. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Being I grew up 10 miles away from the Minnesota-Iowa border, I've heard the border jokes over and over...like "Why do all the trees along the MN-IA border lean towards Iowa? Because Iowa sucks."

A: they haven't discovered indoor plumbing there yet.

I agree. I live in California and it is definitely lacking in Minnesota-ness.

I agree. I live in California and it is definitely lacking in Minnesota-ness. No really, I´ve seen many countries and cultures in my life but the people of Minnesota were among the friendliest and most helpful of all, and hospitality seems to mean something to them. OK, some of my friends in Minnesota were not actually born there, but they moved to Minnesota when they were kids. And I´ve experienced a lot of nice things with the true Minnesotan locals, I had an interesting conversation with a homeless guy, with a busdriver, with people in the museum, cabdrivers, clerks, all kinds of people. One old man even gave me a quarterroll worth ten dollars so I could make a phonecall to my mom ( I didn´t even ask him for money but that´s another story...and in the conversation it turned out that he used to live in the town where I was born). One busdriver even drove me to the place where I stayed ( after his shift) because I got lost during my first stay. And the drivers there are really calm and friendly and know how to behave and don´t speed or freak out, and the people in general are just.....really NICE people. I could go on and on for hours, I could tell you stories about my landlandy there and how much she helped me during the 2002 celebration etc. etc. but I gotta go to bed now. Minnesotans are really nice people. I´m like an elephant when it comes to bad things and good things people do...I never forget. So, greetings to all the nice people of Minnesota. Hopefully, there was good reason.... 1) change of location. i'd wanted to move outta iowa for the longest time, but to someplace that's not too far away from my family. 2) i was in job corps back in iowa and got placed in an advanced training program up here...i ended up getting a job in mpls (still work at the same place, after 5 years).

There used to be a meteorologist on some TV station a number of years ago...it might have been WCCO in Minneapolis...that she'd bitch and moan about the cold weather and snow all the time, and I'm sitting there saying to the TV, "If you don't like it, LEAVE, you dumbass!" I guess that doesn't fit into the "Minnesota Nice" category, but dammit, she deserved it!

Although it is tough sometimes to be cheery beery when the weather has been really bad for weeks on end. But I really have to say that's partially why I never left the state. Yup, we really haven't had winter this year so far....however, I just watched Belinda on channel 11, and she says we'll be having some frigid weather the next few days...your wish may come true yet! Still not much snow on the way though.
