Sounds on St. Mark's Place used to have some great cheap vinyl--unlike Record Runner and Bleeker Bob's which I thought were a little overpriced. I think Sounds are totally CDs now.

Vinylmania on Carmine is pretty cool for current 12" singles. I think they are still open.

That sounds like Kim's Video. They sell (or used to) CDs, vinyl and movies.

I believe they are still around, but I'm not sure if they still sell vinyl.

The store I go to the most nowadays is Other Music on 4th. You can actually check on their website beforehand if they have a CD in stock.

Hymns to the Silence is one of my all time favourite songs. I can listen to it for hours on repeat (not that I have that kind of time anymore lol). It is great for going into that trans~meditational state.
Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife. --Kahlil Gibran

I bought Diamonds And Pearls at Rock And Soul on 7th and 35th. That's a big DJ place. And I was still buying vinyl at the time and asked one of the clerks where the vinyl version of D&P was and he told me there wasn't any. sad

Yeah, that one is the import and super-expensive. I could only afford to buy domestic back then.

I'm not sure. They had a HUGE selection when I was there in 2002 though.
