Ludacris gets the boot from Pepsi......

because of Fox news complaining that he is a negative influence and yet they have Mark Furhman (OJ Simpson) on staff...hmmm...is there something wrong with this picture. Funny...Ludacris isn't even some controversial rapper...

Whatever...cuz...MOVE BITCH get out the way...is my anthem right now...LOL

Funny thing... they had this issue on CNN Talk Back Live Thursday afternoon (or maybe Wednesday), with some conservative commentator and Atlanta DJ Frank Ski.

The conserv was goin on and on about Ludacris promoting this and that poor values, when Frank Ski asked her to quote some of Ludacris' lyrics to back up her point... and she was like "Well I've never really listened to him, so I don't know." BUSTED!!!

She looked sooo stupid, and the audience started laughing at her. Half these folks don't know what the hell they're talking about and just be talkin out they azz some shit somebody else done told them but never proven. The media has gone down the toilet...

I heard Ludacris' album and I don't consider myself a "conserv" at all but I ended up hating it. It is mostly about pimps and hoes. Its theme is centered around disrespecting women and using the term ho too loosely. When I heard his first two singles, I really liked him. Then, when he came out saying "I got hoes in different area codes" I started to shy away from his music, but by this time I had already bought the album and was very put off by it's content. I don't know how Pepsi runs their business or chooses their spokespeople, all I am saying is he does have some offensive stuff coming out of his mouth. Maybe the way he playfully does it disguises it from those who are used to hearing rappers be blatantly ignorant and offensive, but the fact remains Ludacris is no angel

Very good point. Britney is no role model for young girls, who have to deal with enough peer pressure about appearance and weight, that they don't need to have that force-ripe woman all in their face.

lol, i'm fairly new to this site and i've seen some serious hating on some rappers. "Moove bitch, get out da way"..i'm glad to see a lot more rappers starting their own clothing lines instead of advertising tommy Hilfiger or Calvin Klein and making $$$ for them. I just hope that they give some of the profits back to the communities because you know that Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein ain't sending no money back to the hood.

Some rappers like Ludacris need to stop hating on their own people by degrading them on the whole. I don't care if Pepsi drops him or not all I'm saying is he does say things on record that are derogative and disrespectful towards his people. I used to like him. Don't anymore because I can listen and like music without it yelling out a curse word at me 100 times per minute. There are other rappers and musicians I like and they get deals with Coke i.e. The Roots and I am happy to see positive people doing positive things and If that's hating well so be it.

I don't have any respect for a rapper or any other person that degrades their own peeps...i've never listed to any of Ludacris albums, only his singles that is played on the radio. Adorable2, do Ludacris really degrade his peeps on his album? If so, thats a shame.

HaHa, that's funny. It's funny how they give him the boot for his sexually explicit, raunchy, dirty to the ground lyrics, when they should be giving MTV or BET the boot for playing his videos, you know what I mean??? Who's promoting the artist? If anything, they're probably losing out because most youngsters like him anway. rolleyes

I did think "Roll out", was kinda cool though.

I wonder if it's the beat or the hardcore lyrics???...the song is kinda catchy, but it's not something I'd like to dwell in.

But to clarify, I know Biggie and Tupac got some hardcore lyrics about women and 'the life', but they had lyrical skills and could gracefully flow over beats, (like L.L also) which is why I admired them in how they used their talents, although I think Biggie and L.L were better at it than Tupac was, and Nas comes next on my list. But Ludicris doesn't have too much of that, and that's why I'm just not too taken by his music. Just wanted to add that...

But one more thing...If Pepsi thinks Ludicrous is a bad influence on young people, (and on society?!) and is harming people with his lyrics and music, what the heck do they think Pepsi is doing to 'us'? If anything, it's doing worst to mankind! smile

It is a shame. I'm not saying Pepsi should drop him because I have no clue as to how they conduct their business. I'm saying as someone who has bought one of his albums, it doesn't appeal to me because there is a plethora of insults on there. Their are some rappers or hip hop artists I have genuine respect for and he is not one of them because of what I stated beforehand. Like I said before I used to like him and then one day I popped his cd in my truck and I almost crashed! I believe it's his 2nd cd and it contains the track that is out now. Listen to it Abucah and tell me what you think.
