i'd give it about a 3.

i'd give it a -10 if not for some good concerts, a few really great movies, and the super faboo org invasion in minneapolis last october.

i wrote 50,000 words of an incomplete novel which, upon review, i decided to scrap. it WAS a victory for me, as i completed the challenge, and i don't dismiss that at all...but it was more of an accomplishment of process than of end product, if that makes sense.

Stymie

Even with two really big scares regarding my two youngest children and a decision I made subsequent to that, I give 2006 a 10.

I went to Vegas twice, Detroit, Boston, South Carolina, Minneapolis and Amsterdam. I got a much better job with much better pay. I met some of the most incredible Orgers.

Last year, we also established the Circle of Sexxy. cool

2006 was all over the place for me. Some horrific and very sad lows, some really extremely beautiful highs. I came into 2006 with connection on my heart and feel that was acheived on many levels. Interestingly, I don't feel a direction for this year which is kind of disturbing to me as I feel I've not got the connection to myself I usually have. I look forward to finding out what it will be.....

if it's any comfort, i wrote a bunch of crap books under pressure. i wrote four 45,000 word books in ten months nuts BIG mistake. i mean, i did it but as it turns out writing works so much better when you actually take your time and edit. falloff wacky falloff

no, it was a good thing! it was an exercise in creating a writing schedule and in creating my own deadlines for cranking out drafts of prose! i'm working on a new project now, and even though i've gotten sidetracked, the 50,000 word challenge helped create new habits and rituals for my personal writing projects. even though i don't have a novel i want to brag about, the NaNoWriMo challenge yielded really good results. nod

wrap mr. gym etiquette in a giant moist towel like the psychotic burrito he is, then roll him down a very steep hill. nod

meanwhile, my gym efforts actually were a positive thing this year. i know part of this is because i got so sick at the beginning of the year, but i lost 25 pounds which i have kept off, and as of the end of december i was averaging more gym time per week than all year. if i can keep that up in '07, i'll gladly take advantage of bragging rights. nod

I'd probably give it an 8. Pretty average, but getting the day job after working evening jobs for the past 15 years was a plus.

8 is average for you? I now hate you. neutral

Nah, my average is lower, but the job change bumped up the score. smile

this year was the hardest year of my life
physically and mentally
I lost momentum halfways through the year, lost sight of my priorities
I had some choices to make.

Now I made them, we will see how things go

nod 2007 could potentially be the best year of my life

Reincarnate

2006 was a terrible year for my household. I'd give it a 2 out of 10 because in the middle of it I did get to tour around the Far East. But, to be honest, I'm glad to see the back of it.

Heiress

It was a tough year, full of hard knocks. But it shook me out of my inertia, made me acknowledge my priorities and finally, might have even made a real artist out of me. It got other amazing things going in my family as well, immediate and extended.

So I give it a 9-10.
